Giant Bomb @ E3 2016 | WEED3

E3 isn't the same without Giant Bomb for me now. A lot of people felt damn near disrespected by their lack of screaming and hollering for announcements last year but it was all straight GB shit to me. I always watch them talk over stuff if it's available. If need be (there hasn't been a need) I can always go back and catch a raw feed. Add the rest of their coverage and it's basically Christmas mixed with Fourth of July (or Mardi Gras if you get drunk/high while watching which is pretty great too).

Well, if I absolutely had to pick a week to be laid off this would have been it, anyway. Can't wait for the live drive to kick off.

Hope this upcoming week at least keeps your mind occupied on cool stuff and that things start looking up after ✊

E3 hype doesn't start until I've listened to Giantbomb videogame journalist Jeff Gerstmann livestream his car drive from SanFran to LA.

It's always really weird reading Jeff's writing because I feel like it's a little different than his audio/video presence.

It must be really weird for people who read his stuff at gamespot for a decade to read this opinion.

Time zones allowing, I might watch the UBI and EA talkovers live, but the MS and Sony ones I like to watch unmolested first, so I'll rewatch those later

This is the E3 show where they all pretend to be too adult to actually care about what they are covering, right.

Aren't the bomb crew at the point where they've been in the industry so long that they've seen almost every trick? I wouldn't fault them for being mild about E3 since they've been going for more then a decade.

Yes. But they still like video games, they've just seen most twists on how to do a keynote and how to fluff up a presentation, so they don't get bowled over as much.

Watching the kinda funny interview with Jeff was really interesting and it is clear he still very much likes games.

I've been watching these long enough to know every trick too.

Giant Bomb doesn't get all "THIS IS THE BEST THING EV444444444R!". Which I like. But look at their reaction to Creative Assembly developing Halo Wars 2. They've been doing this for a long time, they know their industry.
