Zelda U/NX promo image leaks from Amazon.com

Looks great.

OH GOD.

They really are going in with the "open-world" thing.

Ubisoft tower bullshit, here we come.

I mean WW did have watch towers too. We saw them at a watch tower highlight another one of sorts too in the Game Awards footage as well.

Whether it's an issue to be concerned with all depends on their usage. If they're literally just useful high points that give us a nice vantage point to see the surrounding area I don't see the issue. But if they are locations we have to "capture" for various regions then yeah that could be annoying and tedious.

I always wanted Zelda to have some sort of free-running mechanic to climb over things or trees like in AC3, hope this is close to it.

You know, I never thought about how the climbing mechanics of an uncharted game could actually work really well with the exploration in a Zelda title. I don't want to assume too much from this artwork, but I felt a twinge of excitement I had not yet felt with this upcoming title. And this coming from a life long Zelda fan.

People are being sarcastic or do they really think that he is looking masculine in this artwork?
I mean, the others were masculine imo but in this one he has such a feminine look.

But let's talk about what matters....Hype inflated now and I dat Hyrule Castle.

His jawline looks pretty angular here. The face looked masculine in the prior artwork to me too.

Jesus Christ this looks unbelievable. Maybe the best artwork i've ever seen.

I've been hoping for Zelda to take on a few elements of Western design for awhile, but Uncharted is not the game that I hope that it steals from.

Rockstar. I want it to steal from Rockstar. Specifically RDR.

The game is beautiful, to be sure, and I'm all ready for a new console Zelda, especially considering that I haven't liked one since Wind Waker, but as hype as these screens get me, I need to see it in action, specifically combat and world traversal.
Is uncharted the only gaming series where you climb up on stuff? Cause that's what this thread looks like. Climbing has always been in Zelda, it isn't unlikely that in a bigger world with higher mountains they will evolve this mechanic if you need to do that more often or for "basic" gameplay reasons. They always talked about going up to see what's below and choosing the path you want to follow, so it shouldn't be that surprising. I fail to see Uncharted in this scenario though.

Why do we have so many silly climbing comments in here?

You wouldn't be able to beat Ocarina of Time if you didn't climb Death Mountain to get to Goron City.

You won't get the magic meter and spin attack as a child unless you CLIMB to the summit of Death Mountain.

Why are you all acting like climbing mountains is new to Zelda? What does any of this have to do with Uncharted?

I want to see the game!!! Tuesday can't get here soon enough. That doesn't mean I want footage leaked though. Leakers can shove it.

Because it confirms Zelda is now Nintendo's attempt at Assassin's Creed and Uncharted.

The focus on the bow means it will be a TPS now, so more like Uncharted.

The towers = Assassin's Creed/Ubisoft approach to gameplay. Accept it.

Haven't most zelda games fearured climbing? At least the 3d ones.

Don't you understand? Nintendo stole the idea from Naughty Dog, Uncharted is the first game to feature climbing!

In all seriousness this might indicate that any rock face is climbable, not just designated paths and that would be very boss.

Tbh I'm not a fan of the over saturated style

That said I'm very curious how climbing will be used. Hopefully it's in a creative way and not just a time filler.

The thing you notice in GAF Nintendo threads is that very few people actually play Nintendo games.

By the way, what's that obviously evil construction above the circle? Ganon's lair, or Castle Town in blockade?

And I don't think that's a giant Master Sword. It's definitely a tower, and a pretty notable one - maybe like Tower of the Gods from WW. The new Zelda has WW-style outpost towers, after all, according to TGA 2015 demo.

We already saw such outposts in the short gamrplay video. So I think it is just a tower to take a nice look over the world and to find the points you wanna go. Maybe you have no map and really need to find a way through the world to find the next dungeon without any help. or the map will complete itself after you made it to a certain point ala Wind Waker. (But please let us not feed a animal to draw for us the map...)

Also, not that it's much of a surprise since it's been this way from the start, but this is the first time, at least of recent titles, where the Bow & Arrows has been present in every piece of media, especially artwork, for a Zelda title. They're really emphasizing the bow this time around. Going to be interesting to see what kind of effect that has on the gameplay.

This link looks more an more like a girl with every bit of artwork.
