Zelda U/NX promo image leaks from Amazon.com

Extremely quick and dirty observations. The green ones are of course the, already pointed out, towers. The golden fields in the middle of the picture. Is that actually water reflecting the setting sun?

1. Two towers on top of that distant mountain. Or just kinda specific pixelation?
2. At the base of Death Mountain there seems to be some flat surfaces. Platforms or huge roofs?
3. That one just sticks out to me as more of a structure than a mountain.
4. Is that a big body of water nestled inside those huge cliffs or rather plenty of mountain mist.
5. Waterflow down the mountainside?
6. Link is carrying a bottle.

This game is gonna have phenomenal views, I'm going to have to stop and look around all the time.

It is my sincere hope that Zelda U/NX is a collection of the best of what the Zelda series has offered so far yet still provides something new and exciting for fans new and old to enjoy as well.

Why are we talking about towers and not about this sinister-looking castle in the middle of the world? Is it Castle Town captured by Ganon? Or is it a Ganon's lair?

Doesn't look sinister to me. The sun is rising over death mountain, bathing the castle in reddish-purple light. The walls of Hyrule Castle are white, so they turn reddish-purple from the sunlight. There is smoke swirling above the town, which could either be due to the town having been attacked or it's just smoke from the townspeople going about their lives baking bread and stuff.

That doesn't explain the pillars facing Castle Town.

The castle itself looks fine and not sinister. TP castle was encased in a super sinister-looking black and gold diamond forcefield and that didn't stop the townspeople from going about their lives as if nothing was amiss.

People seem to forget that this is not the first time Link has been able to climb mountains. In Minish Cap you had the Grip Ring which allowed you to climb specific mountain cliffs.

Looks nice! I But doesn't tell me anything about the game. There's probably not a lot of climbing it it just judging by other LoZ games I played so it's just nice concept art at the moment in my eyes.

How certain are people that this is OFFICIAL artwork?

I mean, it looks great, but Link's face looks weird. As if it's made of polygons and not actually hand drawn (or whatever). Am I the only one that sees that?

Also, his face looks a lot more masculine now.

I don't think anyone's forgot, what they're hoping I believe is sort of free form climbing, as in climb anywhere you choose. At least that's what I'm gathering and it doesn't sound bad...also the art depicts an insanely vast world, and scaled the way Link is on the cliff makes Hyrule feel just that much bigger.

Fuck, I'm hype now. I hadn't felt hype for this E3 until now.

Shame we'll have to wait until 2017 for the game though.

If we're going to count this:

here's Link Climbing specific mountain cliffs in OoT without a special item:

Link climbing cliffs isn't new. It's the possibility that he can climb ANY cliff.

Of course, this is artwork, so it's possible the actual game features specific climbable surfaces and this is in fact no different from any other 3D Zelda.

Frankly I hope that you can't climb every cliff, I think that would make verticality less interesting as an obstacle. Plus it would make Gliding off a high cliff with the sail cloth more rewarding and add to pathfinding.
