If your 1080p TV supports HDR then it will look much better than 1080p and better than 4K without HDR. However, TV makers have only added HDR support to 4K sets generally speaking so...

$299 for a 500GB cost-reduced machine is normal, not amazing - this should be significantly cheaper for MS to manufacturer than the original console which was already $299. And that image of the S on top of an original makes it look a lot less small than the opening visuals on the MS keynote. That made it look tiny.


Any news on whether it has a kinect microphone built into the console? I'd love to be able to ditch my kinect but I really like the voice control

I like the design of it. It looks a lot like the slim PS2, but bigger.

The only thing I would be worried about is dust accumulation.
Not sure if the left side or the top is the intake, but if the top is the intake,
its taking like half of the surface of the top side which is huge.
And you can't really disassemble consoles to clean the dust inside without voiding your warranty.

Wish consoles would at least give you some way to clean the inside...
