Did they, though? Guys on the stream knew it was RE before the logo, it looks like a RE game. God of War looked cool but it's still fuckin' Kratos kicking ass.
God of War looked rebooted enough to make me, someone who straight up disliked all of the old GoW games, interested in trying out the new game. The game play and tone were totally different.

There really is no compelling way to show VR without putting on the headset and trying it out. The Giantbomb guys know that, which makes this criticism of the VR portion kinda weird.

And had Sony done that they'd probably bitch about how they should have just shown first person trailers. It's just critiquing for critiquing sake (and usually negative).

Seems like there were alot of fairly poor demo's this year. FFXV, Days Gone, ScaleBound, Recore and Ghost Recon all had bad showings for me.

Also, RDR2 is clearly and NX exclusive.

Since people are ranking the conferences:
Sony >> Microsoft >> Ubisoft = Bethesda > EA.

I thought Recore and Days Gone looked pretty good. Even Ghost Recon showed potential if you could look past the dumb group chat.

I thought that was a great stream and a great conference. And while they seemed cautious, I wouldn't say they were down on it in any way. The VR stuff was legitimately bad, I just didn't care because I think VR is dumb. Everything else they seemed at least somewhat positive about.

Gotta agree with GB.. There was a real: "that's it!?" feeling at the and of that conference. Whole thing just didn't flow very well and lacked information.

Probably the first bad Sony E3 conference since the PS4 got revealed.

That it was a crock of shit basically. There was some enthusiasm mustered for a few things, but it only lasted mere seconds.

People really go overboard with how negative GB actually are doing these things. There were some games they were exited by, but overall I'd say it left them pretty lukewarm, especially because of the presentation and general lack of speeches and information + No real VR games (releasing around launch) being shown.

Fuck guys, i was watchign the chat livestream archive and they just killed it on me for Sony. Any way to try and get back to it? Please help!!!

They didn't say that at all. They just weren't licking Sony's feet like other people tend to do.

I wouldn't be surprised if more than half of them thought that was the best conference.

I don't really understand what these people want? Game after game was shown, no filler and some exciting announcements with tons of new IPs (something no other press conference had).

Uhh, no. Don't misrepresent them just because they aren't high on the Sony fumes. They were all pretty excited for Horizon, showed interest in God of War ffs and liked the kojima thing

Oh, grow up. No one at GB claimed it was anything close to shit, they just wished there was a little more info padding out the trailers. Hardly scathing criticism.

All they did was show game. I think how bad/good it is depends on whether or not you like the games they did show.

To me they all looked generic and boring (with the exception of horizon) to me.

Is it something with Sony fans? I never feel like GB is being particularly negative toward Sony but everything explodes when they're talking about their conference.

I'm far more of a Sony fan than MS (owned a Xbox and Xbox 360, but have owned every iteration of Sony's Consoles and Handhelds), and I totally felt that MS killed it this year compared to Sony. My reaction was the same as the GB Crew's a couple games looked neat (Horizon, especially!), but overall this conference was "meh."

That's not what they said. They enjoyed some games, thought they didn't show other stuff that well and didn't like some.

If you listened it sounded like better VR games, some indie games, a better ending, and a little more explanation.

It's almost like they explained the issues they has with the conference...

I don't think there were a ton. There were three. Which I'm pretty sure is the most out of any conference so far, but I wouldn't call it a "Ton".

And frankly, Days Gone didn't look particularly amazing. If it wasn't made by Bend I probably would have already forgotten about it.

I thought everything they said was fair. Personally, Horizon was the game that stood out as something that I'm really interested in seeing more. Most of the other games didn't look bad, just stuff that I'm not particularly interested in.

I think of the press conferences, Quake and Dishonored 2 (though quake could be a disaster), have me most interested. I guess I'd rank them like this

Bethesda
Sony/Microsoft
Ubisoft
EA

I didn't see the full PC conference. I need to catch up on what was shown there. Over all, the conferences were ok this year except for EA. That whole, hey we have a bunch of people working on Star Wars, here are their studios, lets look over their shoulder while they pretend to work section was bizarre.

What? It flowed like a fucking geiser. It was a different take on a press conference I guess, aimed much more at the wider internet audience. Far more entertaining than anything they've done before.

Always love when people get upset when the guys aren't jumping up and down with hype during announcements.

There are plenty of other channels with that type of behavior.
