Sony E3 Conference 2016 |OT|

What are you most excited for?

Anyone know what the Playstation quest, $10 PSN credit is about? I saw something about it in the chat, and I remember getting a $10 PSN credit when I went to see the 2014 conference at the movie theater.

Kojima basically trolled everyone with a trailor that doesn't make any sense YET people will fall in love with it. Let me summrise.

Happy that conker has competition for worst reimagining of a character now that Crash is in skylanders. Speaking of XY, how many chromosomes does that crash look like he has?

MS is moving forward and expanding their Xbox brand into the entire budget line. From folding-chair-basement tier to Smokey+ tier. They are positioning themselves to have a presence in every category.

Sony on the other hand is still sitting back and banking on their install base to carry them forward. The 360->One transition is an excellent example of that not working.
 
Something felt real off about this conference for me and i'm pretty sure that it is the lack of ni no kuni. I've always wanted to play that game. Alas. Spiderman was GREAT though. Insomniac is one of my favorite game devs. Insta-hype. 8/10

I don't think not mentioning Neo was because they were so confident in the rest that they decided they wouldn't put it in there. Based on the fact that this ran short (when does that ever happen) and ended on such a weird note, they likely pulled it out very recently. They likely got wind of MS' plan and decided to take a breather on the mention to re-consider exactly how to roll it out. I don't know else you make sense of such an odd ending at an incredibly well put together conference and ending early and coming out publicly and stating that something is in development but won't be mentioned.
 
I didn't watch the conference, but wading through all the announcements, seems like a very solid 8/10 showing. Nothing mindblowing, but definitely some good stuff.

Damn they just had to have an orchestra. I managed to convince myself that Joe Hisaishi would come out and conduct during a new Ni no Kuni trailer....
 
Gow looks phenomenal, tlg release date at last, detroit has caught my attention, incredibly surprised that we got to see kojs game and name so soon after partnership and spiderman ps4 is super hype worthy. Yep sony delivered in spades.

What exactly is the huge difference between product strategies with MS and Sony? This post makes absolutely no sense.

Yeah Sony is offering more games this year and in the upcoming years. That's really sitting back...

They would have been in a better position. This isn't so much about the next iteration of consoles as it is about the positioning of them. In 2017 MS will have offerings in the $300 range, the $600 range (presumably), and the $600+ range (everything on W10)

Sony will have the fixed segment of their Neo console.

Check a couple pages back. Sony isn't offering more games. And most of the games they showed won't be around until 2017-2018.

To me it looked like he was having some interference with his controller connection. They should have cut to the preplayed video sooner tho.

Except for the part where people buy these consoles to play games and the games Sony showed for its 40+ million selling console, people want to play.

Try harder.
 
Incredible. After their 2015 conference I really was not expecting to be wowed again but they blew me away. The venue, the orchestra, the presentation, and the showcase was all so...classy. They didn't waste time with talking, just pure games back to back. Some people complained it was short but I guarantee it's the same people that will complain if conferences start dragging on too long.

The era of giant TV's and blasting music felt like it died tonight haha. Sony has mastered conferences. A+ for me, they even made me feel excited for Infinity War it was so good.
 
Ummm, so where did Sucker Punch go after Second Son? The rumor that they were doing the new Spiderman game made a lot of sense considering Infamous gameplay and time since Second Son, but now that's Insomniac.

Seems weird they've been so silent.
 
I Sqee'ed when Insomniac's logo preceded an actually interesting looking Spider-Man game. I immediately thought Sunset Overdrive engine in full parade.

This conference floored me. I was stuck to the edge of my seat. People saying it was mediocre are soulless skeptics devoid of happiness.

Every single game even the Skylanders will be mine. Also, damn that CoD gameplay looked PIMP.

And there's the possibility they are thinking about adding more power to it, to be more inline with Scorpio. Who knows?
 
I thought it was good! Not every game was a home run but some good stuff. Better than any other show today.

VR was a big flop like I expect it to be in general. "expeeiences" ugh. Why would anyone buy this?

I actually liked the cod game play. I liked the space visuals.. Too much to play this holiday!

To part of your point, MS is rolling pretty much everything out for PC/Xbox line because they don't care where you buy their games. They are enabling cross-play and buy to broaden the scope of what they can offer to the various audicences.

What new budged market is approaching Ms?? We do not have a Scorpio price yet. Xbone slim will by the same price current Xbone , no Xbone pricedrop announced ..

At this moment and basically until end 2017 they no have nothing new....
 
Great conference. New God of War looks great and story driven. Resident Evil 7 was a shock to me. Last Guardian, did not expect for this year. I did not think that was Call of Duty at first, I'm hyped. Crash remasters, nice! Zombie game is zombie game lol. Horizon looks like a blast.

Next year's E3 is going to be even better. With Scorpion to launch and Neo as well. We should be seeing great looking games next year!
 
Holy shit people hated this conference? Damn they blew my away lol. I thought it was amazing.

I was thinking to myself 'if only every conference was presented the same as this one"...

I completely agree with what you're saying. Microsoft are upping their pace while sony is trotting along like they've been doing. Nintendo seem to be taking a step back, but in their case they've conveyed that they're gearing up for the future, so it's understandable.
