Nintendo Treehouse Live @ E3 2016 Thread [*LIVE*] (No childish commentary allowed)

WELP. No confirmation of another mode yet. I'll withhold judgment but I do not like the main mode so far barring simultaneous turns and the return of coins and stars. But those things are not enough for me to say, "hey this looks great." because being locked to Toad until a character appears on the board is stupid.

Continued listening to this train wreck.

Agreed. That's an awful idea.

I'm sure there's other modes. Why would this be specified as "toad scramble" if it was the only way to play star rush? I think you have reason to be optimistic :)

Do you honestly want people like Polygon to try and play these games.

"Breath of the Wild is a simply terrible game. For the full length of my time at the Nintendo booth, Link (who is a dude by the way, wtf) was repeatedly beaten to death by silly red goblin things and Link had no weapon to fight back with, every time I tried to run away I died falling off cliff, or ran into a fire. 0/10"

But that's kind of how it's already done. A conference happens and then people play it live on the floor. So the only difference here is that the company itself is playing it which isn't as good IMO since they have an obvious reason to make it look and play better.
I'd rather not have all the footage of Monster Hunter Generations coming out of E3 being journalists who have never played the game before bumbling around doing nothing and getting wrecked because they can't remember that switching items is L+Y/A. I'm cringing just thinking about people picking greatsword and never sheathing, ambling around trying to combo instead of doing hit and run charge attacks.

It's fine for heavily scripted/guided games or those that follow common game conventions closely, sure.

Looks like they're running a bit behind if YW2 was supposed to start 20 minutes ago
Nintendo Employee: "Quick, what do we do!? The Pokémon GO presentation ran longer than expected. We're behind!"

Nintendo Executive: "...Just cut the Mother 3 localization announcement. And show some more Zelda."

Nintendo Employee: "You're a genius, sir!"

Guys, Youkai Watch 2 is so good. I can't wait to play it again in English.

Thats why i skipped YW1. YW2 is supposed to be way better and als has a bit of flashback from the first game at the beginning.

I quite liked the first one so I'm looking forward to this one. Is the recruitment improved at all?
