Nintendo Treehouse Live @ E3 2016 Thread [*LIVE*] (No childish commentary allowed)

In Sticker Star I actually used a guide to learn which Thing card I needed for the boss fight prior to entering a dungeon, to make sure I had the right one on me. I know it's bad I need to do that in the first place but it made the experience much more pleasant.

This game is a few design decisions away from being the best RPG the Wii U has to offer, from what I've seen.

It's just the design flaws are so big.

Colour Star looks deliciously barmy and varied.

I want to learn more about the battle system though. Using Things to solve bosses is fine, but I heard the implementation in Sticker Star was less than satisfactory.

Guys just pretend the first two Paper Mario games don't exist.

This game has so much charm, great funny writing and creativity in the levels.

I'm cautiously optimistic about PM:CS (and it's actually my only pre-order from this E3 as Zelda was already accounted for) but the fire extinguisher solution to Morton's fight worries me. For the most part I didn't mind Sticker Star, and I found most of the objections to it on the grounds of "But enemies are obstacles rather than grindable sources of XP!" to be insipid, but the one thing that really sunk the game for me and stopped me from completing it when I was almost at 100% was the awful all-or-nothing, inventory-check approach to boss design. I would have felt a lot better about what we saw of PM:CS if we saw how the Ice Flower interacted with the flaming hammer rather than the inventory check on the fire extinguisher.

Why oh why didn't they reveal a Paper Mario amiibo :(

The game looks fucking amazing compared to Sticker Star. I went into this with such low expectations. It's gorgeous, funny and just wow. Day one!

The game looks fantastic graphics-wise, the set pieces look great, with variety apparently, the writing is fun, and the battle system has some important improvements compared to Sticker Star (the fact you can use two cards per turn every time is already a major improvement, the same for a much less card limit - maybe none? ), but there are still things like the overabundance of Toads that make me not as excited about the game as those crazy moments just shown would deserve.

Print your own. You don't even need a 3D printer!

Color Splash looks fun, I wish they did not all only toads, would have made the story more fun having to color in all unique characters

Chiko!!!
