8 months is a long wait.
I haven't really been following NX news, but is that really when it is coming? I figured that since it wasn't shown this year that it would be holidays next year with this game alongside it.

Trust me, I know the feeling. Ever since I discovered the internet I willingly lap up every morsel of information I can find on the game I want. I think the last game I remember being surprised about was Super Smash Bros, Melee. I used to go on those "cheat" sites where they tell you how to unlock stuff, and at the time I had no idea who Marth and Roy and all were, so I was pretty surprised when I unlocked them. After that, I haven't really been surprised about anything. But man, I need to do it for this game. That thing on Death Mountain? That floating island in the sky? That meteor? I feel like I wouldn't forgive myself if I let myself read about what was behind those things on a forum.Yes this is exactly what I feel. I just want to discover all by myself after seeing all the possibilities of this game.
But on the other hand I'm way too curious, so I just don't know if I'm capable of going on media blackout...
There's no official date yet, but all signs point to Spring '17.I haven't really been following NX news, but is that really when it is coming? I figured that since it wasn't shown this year that it would be holidays next year with this game alongside it.

Good lord. How the hell are we supposed to fight a pig demon the size of a castle?!

Well, the official word is that NX will launch March 2017 globally. Whether or not that will happen remains to be seen, but that's what's official.

I wouldn't say that about the 2D games though.
They've definitely become quite stale and samey.
I do think both art style and music are very bland and in need of a revamp. But I don't know, it's more than that.Only from an extremely superficial point. The NSMB games, NSMBWii and NSMBU especially, have brought tons of new ideas and refinement to the 2D games. The only thing that is objectively stale is the music. The gameplay and level design are top of the game.
I just noticed that active Guardians are marked on the minimap. Bokoblins and Steppe Talus are not, even when Steppe Talus is awake.
Is swimming stamina dependent?
Interesting that it hasn't been critisized or comment more at the least. Limiting underwater exploration now that the game has open up in so many more aspects is a bit contradictory.Yes.
Ugh the Steppe Talus music is so good: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jPgtJKZS0cM#t=2m57s

I think it would be premature to criticize or comment on this since it's likely that your ability to swim and dive will open up more later in the game, as it does in many other Zelda titles.
Just gotta say man the balls on Nintendo. Only they can get away with showing 1(!) game on the first day of e3 and everyone be like ok damn alright that was good.
Nintendo had the advantage that this e3 was very mediocre. No surprise announcements, many cinematic games and "shovelware" VR experiences.
I really like that music.Ugh the Steppe Talus music is so good: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jPgtJKZS0cM#t=2m57s
Also, anyone know if there is a prolonged Guardian battle somewhere on the internet?

Actually, you are the ones jumping the gun with my comment. XDThere will most likely be items or other ways to stay under water for longer periods of time. Maybe later on in the game or after certain events. There's no way this 2% demo reflects everything in the game.

As far as I know, those markings are done by the player, not the game.

In 3D Zelda games, save for the Wind Waker, Link could actually swim freely above the water surface without any problems. Underwater exploration was indeed tyed to a later accuired item.
Floating in the water been tied to an stamina bar is indeed restrictive. Assuming of course the information provided by brad t was correct.
does anyone have the link to the image of the controls (either on the gamepad or in the booth)? not just a list of controls, I know them, I need the image to see exactly what it says
Yeah, in past games it was always that you couldn't really go underwater much until you got an item. Come on brehs

Hopefully crouch is a toggle, it's generally difficult to hold down triggers and move gracefully.
So I wonder if each individual area will have its own music, or was that for the rock monster fight specifically.
You know how some of the Bokoblin camps have a small tower with a lookout on top?
I can't believe no one tried using an axe on one of the legs to see if it crumbles down.
