I backed this for 100.

The amount of money thrown on the game matters little when the core gameplay and design philosophy aren't good enough to begin with.
Game seems to have framerate problems on every platform, too. Well, at least on PS4, XBO and Wii U from what I've been told/read.
I don't know why we're hearing about Bloodstained and Shenmue 3 in here.... i think those that pledged a lot for this Mighty want other KS games that look awesome and that has trusful developers (unlike Inafune) to fail?
Either Inafune is a hack or the genre is dead.

So much for 'the genre is dead'.
A good game is a good game and a bad game is a bad game, it's as simple as dead. Jazz sucks balls (and we all know it), but Dave Brubeck was able to work it and make a few good tunes. Same is true for games.
VEry very bad this disappointed me in many ways ,being 2d and have bad graphics. Constant crashes of the game on the ps4 version stopped me enjoying it ,however, i dont know anyone else whos game crashed.
I backed 2, including Shenmue, and after Wasteland 2 I'm not all that optimistic about Torment...Only ever backed one Kickstarter. Feeling a bit anxious right now about all that money I gave to Yu Suzuki. Welp, fingers crossed.
I hope you guys didn't put hundreds of dollars into Shenmue 3.
That's because I've played Shenmue tbhThe lack of faith in Yu Suzuki in here is disturbing.
So...they should not have it done this way is what you're saying?Yes but indie development has flexibility which larger studios don't. It's ultimately a question of who is using the money and how. A small team not working on any other projects and dedicated to making a single game they own over a longer period of time can make money stretch. A studio contracted to make a game for someone else, having to consider the overhead of their staff and manage a schedule to ensure they can continue to divide their resources to different projects to keep operating, will have very different economic division.

Oh wow, I forgot all about that quote. Hilarously sad in retrospect.I actually kept all of my Kickstarter emails. The update where they announce the Unreal demonstration (seven days work), shown in the below .gif:

well...I'll show you rather than tell you.
And I quote:
"Whattaya think? Someday we will look back on this and laugh at how primitive it looks, but for now, for only one week of test work, it's pretty darn cool, don't ya think?"
I'm looking back on this, but I'm definitely not laughing. Well, I might be, but not for the reason they might have thought...
This whole Mighty No. 9 saga has taught me I need to be a little more cautious of the things I back on Kickstarter. Making a decision based solely by name and pedigree is simply not enough.
Didn't they stop making Mega Man games because people stopped buying them, though? Seems like you should take a good look in the mirror, bucko.
Expected, but disappointing nonetheless.
Maybe Inafune should've focused on making one good game before trying to franchise out the series into shows and movies and planning sequels.
Oh, that's not good. Any word on how frequent the drops are? I never did get the game running perfectly on my PC when I tried it (it was ok for 99% of the time, but it had odd drops here and there). Can't see how it should really have any frame rate drops, looking as it does...
That kind of stuff will actually annoy me if its bad enough, as it'll make precision platforming that much harder![]()
Almost every MM game has slowdown, which is equivalent to framerate problems. It was never a deal breaker for anyone before.
People need to have their perspectives checked.
MM has never had the best graphics, they've always relied on art style. And they've not always been free of performance problems.
MN9 ticks all these boxes.
Getting pretty tired of boo hoo the graphics aren't amazing for a small budget game that has to work on almost 10 platforms complaints.

Not saying they couldn't be better and the performance shouldn't not be perfect. But they should hardly be deal breakers when something like MM has always been about the gameplay and music.

We do get progress reports, just not as frequently as Bloodstained. Big deal? Doubting the legendary Yu Suzuki is uncalled for. But whatever, the game will speak for it's self soon enough.
I almost feel bad for piling on, being a mod and everything, but MN9's progression deserves to be highlighted for educative purposes.

It would be hilarious if it weren't for the fact that people financed it cash in advance.
This is not good. Not good at all. Old glories going solo need to take a long, hard look at MN9 and be wary of its history.
Mega Man's graphics were always competent in any case. MN9's aren't. Its art is also fairly unspired, to the point of its visuals being reminiscent of some of the poorest games of the Xbox/PS2 era; there's no flair at all. And then there's the gameplay not being all that great, going by most respected accounts.
