what jrpg are you playing right now ?

Reinstalled Tales of Zestiria and playing that right now, but also have Digimon Cyber Sleuth installed and will give that a try soon.

After giving Zestiria a 4 month break I like it much better now. Maybe I accepted it's convoluted systems in the meantime.

about 11 hours in to Tales of Zestiria, enjoying it so far. It's got some interesting new features that i'm enjoying, even if the weapons systems is a bit over complicated.

Tales of Herts R. Lots of fun in combat and exploration (that isn't spiria core). I now have 4 characters in my party, woo!

Still randomly upgrading somas as I have no clue what to focus on.

FF7 for about the 100th time. Loving the Ps4 version with the 3x speed and instant limits and no fights.

I've played so many times it's fun to just go through for the story and boss fights and to basically skip every tedious part (random fights in temple of ancients ungh)...fantastic addition. Missed the Barrett date trophy so I'll have to replay at least the first 5 hrs again if I decide to platinum this...

Crap, it's been a while since I've played. I generally focused on getting the next arte/spell and boosting stats that the character specialized in. I think.

Finished Paper Jam and FF4 CC version today, woohoo.

Playing Dragon Quest IV on the DS. Chapter 5, just cleared out the lighthouse dungeon.

I like how it's divided up very finely, so there's usually some immediate goal you can accomplish with relatively little time.

Playing Dragon Quest 2 for the first time. Got the boat, found Dragon Lord jr and I seem to be in a open ended section where I have to find 5 crests. The encounter rate is too damn high!

Just finished Chapter 8 of Xenoblade X, virtual mech orgy. Loved it.

Chipping away at character missions as well for the extra attacks and store items. Some are interesting but a bit too much dialogue even after their point has been made.

I just finished Sword Art Onlone: Lost Song and started Trails of Cold Steel on my Vita.

I've also been playing Dragon Quest Heroes on PS4 while I wait until Star Ocean comes out next week.

Slowly progressing through Fire Emblem Fates Conquest. Not really in the mood for it though. Really wish Dragon Quest 7 was coming out sooner.

Trying to decide between Tokyo Mirage Sessions or Star Ocean 5 to scratch the jrpg itch I've had lately.

Finally playing Suikoden 1 for the first time. The first 3-4 hours were honestly pretty bad, but it's got a bit of charm and I'm starting to get into it (about 13 hours into it now).

Does Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn count? It's more a strategy and tactics thing, but it still has story and character progression like a jrpg. Started playing it last week, it's my first Fire Emblem game, and it's totally amazing.

Now: Persona 3 FES: The Answer (already beat the Journey--OVER 200 hours on my gameclock)
Next: Persona 4: Golden or Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE

Thought I'd try Xenoblade chronicles 3D I'm up to the first cave/dungeon and so far not very impressed.

Yeah the 3DS version is pretty ugly and the first part of that game is the weakest. If you can get past the graphics the actual game does get pretty good.

Also, Xenoblade Chronicles X is far more impressive and that is what I am still playing with over 80 hours in.

I just finished FFVII on PS4. I did chocobo racing and got knights of the round, but I don't have the patience to try Emerald Weapon or Ruby Weapon.

Previously played Xenoblade X. It was kinda addicting but looking back I wasn't really enjoying it that much. I still managed to beat it around the 60 hour mark though. I probably won't ever go back to it.

Currently nearing the end of Dragon Quest V. I've been going through the series in order from the beginning of the year and I can say that it is my favorite game of the series so far followed by IV. Just a fun pure JRPG adventure with the cool gimmick of not being born as the legendary hero.

First time playing the Famicom version of FF3 and I enjoy it sooo much more than the 3D remake.
I don't even really know why as the remake seems pretty faithful from what I recall. I guess playing it in 2D makes a world of difference. Now I can really see how close it is to the SFC entries in terms of pacing and interface and how it's like a proto-FF5, mechanically of course with the job system but also in spirit.
My new favorite FC game.

I'm replaying Dragon Quest 4 and 5. But this time I'm playing it on IOS. They're as fantastic as ever. The phone is actually a really great way to play these games. It's nice that at any time, you can just close it and immediately be back to where you left off. If you get it by phone, they won't interfere with your backlog. You can put time in when you're bored at work, when you're in a waiting room for a doctor appointment, when you're waiting to get your car fixed, when your waiter at a restaurant is taking a long time to serve food, when a store hasn't opened yet, when your hotel is making you wait to be checked in. You get to have something to do during those situations and play games that every RPG fan should play.

Weird, this is exactly what I've been doing with DQV for the past couple of weeks. Every time I've got a bit of downtime at work I'd take my phone out and play a couple of minutes of it. Making progress reeeeeal fucking slow, but it's pretty nice.

Persona 4 Golden. It's pretty good.

You started with the best one.

Get a Vita ASAP.

I think if I got any portable it would have to be 3DS because DQ7 remake is coming out soon.

But I can't get 3DS. It would be really hard to justify paying $200 for another console when I have like 30 games I want to try out on PS2, PS4, and Steam.

I love FF3 Famicom, and think it's one of the most underrated titles in the franchise. The remake modifies the number of monsters in battle, making the amount of unique encounters much less dynamic, and this hurts the game's pacing. There's also some changes with the Job system in the 3D remakes - each Job starts out neutered until you fight a bunch of battles, which discourages experimentation with the system.

Anyways, I just got an email that my SO5 collector's edition has shipped! So I will hopefully be playing that soon...

Bought Drakengard 3, still have to finish the second one before starting it.

So far the second one seems pretty tame compared to the first one. Looked it up on wiki and it seems Taro Yoko barely had anything to do with it.

Started Atelier Shallie yesterday and I'm in love. The lack of a time limit makes this game great. I mean Rorona was fine since I nearly 100 percent it in one playthrough but Totori and Meruru with time elapsing after every action killed the game. So I skipped Ayehsa and Escha & Logy since I heard Shallie had no limit whatsoever.

Great game so far. More like how I pictured it when I started to get interest in the franchise.

Oh, I totally forgot they did that, thanks.
Finished it yesterday. As expected, the last dungeon was brutal and far too long if done in one sitting as originally released. I would have never been able to beat it without the VC save feature. Great game apart from that.

Next in line is Phantasy Star III, I fear the worst...

Been replaying Pokémon Ranger: Guardian Signs lately! Love how much less stylus-heavy it is outside of battles compared to its predecessor. The diving & flying bits are nice lil extras which break up the regular gameplay. Easily the best of the three so...... why hasn't a new one been made yet?!

Star Ocean 5. Been enjoying it for what it is.

I've also got God Eater: Resurrection downloading as we speak. $20 isn't bad to try out this series. I've heard good things about this port.
