Steam Summer Sale 2016 |OT| It's better than nothing

Sonic Lost World worth playing? Looks Super Mario Galaxy-esque.

If you really want it, you can just pay $10 bucks for the Sonic Humble going on which includes Lost World. 4.99 bucks lower than this sale price. I didn't play too much of it myself but from what I've seen the first few stages are neat but then it gets to be annoying.

Vanishing is on my list, but I am worried it's too scary for me (no jump scares right?)

There's one section with jump scares (which is total BS, as the rest of the game is more of a general, spooky/foreboding vibe) but you can cheese the "scary" part by just running through the area with your head down.

I'd still highly recommend it, even with the unnecessary jump-scare part.

so this might be a little out there for this thread, but hey, its such a ridiculous deal I might aswell.

The Marvel Heroes Captain America Civil War starter pack is 90% off, not sure if thats a price mistake, but it comes with both Cap and Ironman and 2 extra costumes for both, for 2.29€

that is a insane deal if you know the prices of heroes in that game (hell Iron Man is one of the most expensive heroes in fact) and if you ever wanted to give it a try, this is a hell of a way to do it (especially since both are quite fun too)

I wouldn't refresh the page

I know....

Will you be double charged? I mean, mine just keeps failing to complete, so I don't think any transactions are actually being made. Unless there's something here I'm missing. I think you have to get a timeout message or something to be sure of what's going on.

Let it stay there. Mine were stuck there for more than 10 minutes and then suddenly it went through.

Well it better go through, as they've definitely charged me. I opened up steampowered.com in a separate tab and they've emptied my $50 steam wallet credit. It's been sitting on this screen for nearly 20 minutes now. No purchase confirmations in my e-mail or anything thus far. Argh.

For a mostly PC gamer, it's probably slightly shameful that I've never ever played a rogue-like, so aside from Necrodancer and Flame in The Flood (which are in my cart), what are some good easy ones for a beginner in the genre to dip their toes into?

Spelunky and The Binding of Isaac are must-buys if you're even remotely interested in rogue-likes.

That's the point of those bundles - you own everything else so you get a big discount on the remaining items.

Huh. Not that I'm complaining, it's just dumbfounded me a bit.

Still not that sure whether to go for it. I haven't played Skyrim since 2012 and I seriously doubt the remaster is going to draw me back in. I'll likely never get to the point in a replay where I can play Dragonborn anyway.

Binding of Isaac is the best out there in my opinion. Start with Afterbirth as it includes all of the content from the original game, but ports the engine to win32 from Flash.

They're probably not thinking of a discount because they can't fathom anyone wanting to play it NOT having it at this point. :p

never forget

Fair enough, haha.

I had it on PS Plus on my PS3, which has now gone the way of a red death screen.

I figured if I pick it up on Steam, I can shift it from that extinct backlog to my other backlog.

Wait, so Divinity OS is 50% off until July 4th then correct? That would mean i have time until then to decide whether to grab it or go with Pillars of Eternity instead (provided it too will go on sale until then) I only have time for ONE super epic WRPG right now.

should we get the Wii U version instead? what are the pros/cons of each port?

Just looking @ Minecraft story mode they seem to have added another 3 episodes for extra cost! Bit shitty that.

Still, £20 for all the lot? Worth it?

I was hoping for a 50% off on Superhot but with the sale now I'm not sold yet. Also super disappointed in no sale for Factorio. Still some great sales though. Definitely picking up Volume and Volgarr.

Whats the GAF consensus on Superhot?

Contradiction will never go on sale...

Whats the GAF consensus on Superhot?
The game has interesting mechanics, but the game does not do enough with them. The level design is rather bland and samey. Still a fun game, certainly worth picking up at half price.

FTL: Faster Than Light. Play on Easy mode to get the hang of things, then do Normal. You can pause/unpause at anytime to set up your actions when things get hectic.

Well, it's really not a horror game or anything. Exploration and story are in the foreground. But full disclosure... there is one slightly scary part later on in the game. xD

I'm surprised that Stellaris is on sale. Only 10% off, mind, but it's a practically new game that's selling well. Worth it for those interested.

Not a good metric to measure by.

I enjoy the Borderlands games for what they are, the writing in the 3 shooters is pretty not great (it has its moments though) but the gameplay is fun for what it is. I keep hoping that Gearbox hires the Tales writers to write Borderlands 3. I know it will never happen though.

33% off Street Fighter V? I have been waiting for a sale since launch day. Now its here, I think I'll keep waiting.

The cinematic story mode and Ibuki should release in the next week if that interests you at all.

Jesus, it has been an hour and a half and the store is still sooo slow and getting 503 errors.

I could at least add stuff to my cart by this hour last year during the Winter sale (I remember it because I was also at work checking the deals). :(

Officially, it's the worst sale ever... :P

SHIT, now I would be forever anticipating that moment when I do play the game, haha. Anyway, I'm a big fan of the whole detective mystery shebang, so well, jump scare or not... here's my money.

Thanks!

The gameplay in Borderlands also replaces any reliance on sleep aid medication.

So there won't be any new deals at all? What we see right now is the entire sale?

Not necessarily. Some publishers won't have sales until later in the sales window and some will only have them for a day or two. But, the sales you see will be the lowest price they'll be during the sale, so be sure to check the individual store page to see when the sale ends for that particular game so you can buy accordingly.

Especially worth it with the new Asimov patch dropping in the next week or so. Lots of balance and QoL changes, apparently.

One Way Heroics. Very easy to get into, and if you don't get bored of it, it also has a big expansion
