Steam Summer Sale 2016 |OT| It's better than nothing

Doom at 40% off seems pretty good for how recently it came out. But they aren't doing dailies are they? Seems like the sales are just the sales the whole time.

SteamGAF already knows this but also a reminder for everyone..Hard Reset Redux is only 3$ if you own the previous and/or Shadow Warrior.

I was hoping that Total: Warhammer was going on sale, meh. I've been looking at GTA V to get a bit cheaper, I have it on 360 but I lose my power-cord when I was moving and I never got a new cord and that was 3 years ago. But I haven't decided if the price is right yet. I had a lot of fun with Far Car 3 so I've been waiting for Far Cray 4 and Primal to get on sale but I'm a bit hesitant.

That Soma deal has finally got it down to a price I feel comfortable paying. For a sale this mediocre it's, as a businessman once said, "better than nothing."

hmm was hoping for a much better sale price on dragons dogma and rise of the tomb raider.

By the way, anyone know if it's possible to make a purchase with a paypal account from a different country than my steam region?

Welp, time to buy the Organ Trail and its DLC. Of course they added Spelunky since I ended up buying stuff on GoG just for their slightly gimped (but DRM free) version of it for free.

Alright here's a tougher question: Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth or Transistor?

Best advice I can give: just play Call of Cthulhu if you enjoy psychological thrillers at all, you won't regret it. It has aged, and it's a bit janky, but it is one of those games that stuck with me long after I played it because of its atmosphere and its unique take on the horror genre.

Transistor I played for 20 minutes and haven't touched since...

Op got some amazing precognition skills with that title :)
The best discount I get on some of the games on my wishlist is 50% off and foolishly I expected more. Once again I feel stupid for not buying games off certain online stores because of moral reasons (and sadly I'm unable to ignore those) and instead decide to wait months to get those games at a worse discount. Oh well. Kudos to Bethesda for discounting Doom this early on though. Didn't expect so see a discount at all.

Transistor is one of my favorite games, but it's hit or miss with some people.

The game isn't paced well, finally dumping all of the interesting abilities at the very end of the game, instead of allowing for more experimentation until the end.

The combat system is actually very deep, I actually played through the first time as an SRPG where I paused and planned my actions, with the second play through as an SRPG playing almost completely in real-time. I actually had more fun the second play through with all of the abilities unlocked and all of the difficulty mods turned on.

Have you played Condemned?

I want to get GTA V or DOOM but I just bought that 1080. Nothing to really test it with. Stardew Valley is getting terrific frames though!

Do you have a 120/144 Hz monitor? Doom is pretty slick at high framerates, both are gorgeous.

Anything good?

Was thinking on Turmoil, but only a 2 buck discount.

Man, Steam really should upgrade their servers or something, can't even browse the sale.

Has Skyrim Legendary edition always been this expensive ?? :(, I swear I have seen it years past at $15.

Did they raise the price because the remaster is coming?

Crookz The Big Heist, supposed to be a very good (silly) strategy game, is 75% off, lowest its been I think?

Same. They're using their money to buy houses and cars and nothing is being put into servers. I'm not buying anything. It's too painful right now.

Can someone help me? I don't know which version of Binding of Isaac to get.

There's normal, collection, Rebirth, Awakening and I've got no clue. Typicall a 'collection' has them all but this one is older than REbirth or Awakening O_o

Deals are kinda disappointing. Only ones I'm considering at the moment are:

- Victor Vran (75% off) for $5
- Castle in the Darkness (70% off) for $3
- 12 is better than 6 (70% off) for $3
- Broken Age (80% off) for $5

...what do you guys think? Good value?

That Metroidvania bundle is very tempting.

What Metroidvania bundle?

Rebirth has a year worth of content alone. Start there, grab additional DLC at subsequent sales.

Depends? You want the first one or the later one? I can gift you the first one for free if you add me

Just get binding of Issac afterbirth. It's rebirth plus DLC. I haven't ever played the earlier games but have 200 hours in afterbirth!

Hmmmmmm, contemplating if I should get MGS V TPP. I got to Chapter 19 or 20 on PS4, and I read the last third of the game becomes grindy as hell and story sucks. Maybe I'll wait until it's $20 instead of the $40 now.

Victor Vran 75% off is nice, game is awesome

Disney Mega Pack 75% lowest ever

Don't know about very good, there's a demo.

reviews are decent and its very positive on steam, which have no problems ripping games appart usually? /shrug

Heh, I see that there's no general consensus on W1 and W2. I guess I'll start with W1. Thanks for the opinions.

I broke it down a little:

It looks like buying the SEGA Mega Drive and Genesis Classics collection is the better buy than buying the individual packs if:

1) You want the Sonic games (though Humble will probably add the missing games next week)
2) You want the Toe Jam & Earl games (they're 2.50 a piece, which basically covers the difference in price between buying the individual packs)

All the individual packs together come to $9.35, but don't have any of the above.
The collection comes to $15.49 and includes everything, which is way over the $6.14 difference.

There is also another pack which doesn't seem discounted, but doesn't have all of what the 15.49 pack has.

Yes, I saw your post, which is why I discovered that the packs were on sale.
Have most of the Sonic games and two game packs since before.
So it's 5.61€ to buy the remaining three packs.
To buy the complete SEGA Mega Drive and Genesis Classics its 14,74€
The only games I am missing from the big bundle is the Toejam games.
Adding them makes it 10.09€, still cheaper than the complete bundle for me. And I'm not that interested in the Toejam games for the price they are now.
Thanks anyway for getting me to notice the packs. :)
