Civilization 6 announced, out October 21st

I'm getting used to the aesthetics. It helps that the animation is pretty good and the day/night cycle is a great touch. It will be a day one purchase for sure.

I still play Civ 3 to this day...I've never been able to get into the new ones ever since they removed stacking units in one tile and the art style has gotten too cartoony.

oddly enough, graphics matter more to me in a civ game than most other games.

it's like anno, the game serves as a wonderful bit of wallpaper. like a fish tank, fireplace or ornamental globe. a soothing window to a beautiful patchwork landscape which you feel some real investment in as you survey all that you have created and conquered.

feel fuck all investment looking at this revolting iOS mess. utter garbage. rid this filth from mine eyes, modders.

Three types of barbarian camps: Melee camp, Cavalry camp, Naval camp. Location (somewhat) map-dependent.
Man, they better show some new gameplay.

The emphasis on the leaders informing their particular era makes me hopeful that alternate leaders will be in, or at least added.

It is just so, so ugly.

I would believe you if you told me it was a game from ten years ago.

Yeah, it's basically a PS2 game.

Wait, wrong platform.

Sean Bean to replace David Attenborough confirmed.

I think the art style looks great. Screw the haters. I can't wait for this.

Meh...

I think more that's an upgrade.

Well the player has a religion, and based on the next social policy cost, the player has at least 3 or 4 policies invested.

Maybe Monument to the Gods + Religious Community + Aristocracy can help with the low hammer count :P

Edit: Actually Guruship might be more useful at this time than Religious Community. Only 4 followers eh.

I was trying really hard, but yeah I'm finding myself slightly on the side that doesn't really dig the aesthetic. That fog of war sketch effect doesn't really jive with the rest of it, either.

I'll still play the shit out of it, but dang.

I played all the civ games from 1 to 5 and it's by far the game series I played the most in my life.
So this game is a no-brainer for me, can't wait to play it.

The good thing about the graphics for me: my old PC may be able to run it properly :D And honestly, I see the potential of mobile versions coming, too, this time.
