Overkill in what way? That's a ton of great games, the question would be do you have that kind of time?

If you've no games to play right now, and you'll mostly play these games throughout the year, not overkill at all. If you've got a hefty backlog, yes, very overkill.

I'd personally rethink GTAV and W3 because i thought those games were rather lacklustre, but the rest sure are fine choices and definitely worth their price.

Those will all kill your time. But otherwise you're going to have a lot of great stuff to play!

hey that looks cool! same developer?

Nope. I think RimWorld is a solo effort.

He's been in close contact with the Prison Architect team and got their blessing to borrow the art-direction for character assets, etc. They're not direct lifts but you can't miss the inspiration.

RimWorld is gonna freakin' own. Available now but I'm waiting for Steam release next month. People are saying it's the best Dwarf Fortress-lite / colony sim to date.

I've gotten emails from isthereanydeal.com for 43 games off my wishlist so far being at historic lows, so I dunno wtf you people are complaining about. 43 games is way more than I'm going to buy :P

Wait, what? Witcher 3 lacklustre?? How?

Also how is Pillars of Eternity if I never played that type of game before?

My X360 controller died recently. Is the Steam Controller worth it on sale? I have a PS4 or WiiU controller I can always use but I loved the plug and play support of the 360. Steam Controller operate similarly?

i know that there was some noise about extra content from the ps4 version of Oxenfree (or something about extra conent) coming over to pc, has it been confirmed or not if that extra content will be a free patch or an entirely different version? the answer to this question determines if i purchase oxenfree

I've heard Dirt Rally goes on sale all the time, has anyone seen it go below $35(USD)? I'm debating about picking it up now or waiting a while for a potentially better sale.

Age of Empires II HD 2.99€
Age of Empires II HD + The Forgotten Expansion + The African Kingdoms Expansion 6.39€

Now this is tempting. Are the expansion worthwhile or is the base game enough ? Haven't played this game for 15 years or so.

The backlog is enormous. I have very little time to play games, but I keep buying...

These might be some smart cuts, I could probably wait until both are cheaper.

The fuck? That seems like some anti-consumer bullshit. Imagine if someone told you this at a store.

this is actually happening to stop the CSGO smurfs who make new steam accounts and roll the scrubs in matchmaking

it's meant to protect the players who want to enjoy the game proper

No, it's not just you. The complaining always bothers me for some reason.

As though if Valve isn't just giving away their entire store for 80% or 90% off, people act like they're being being cheated somehow.

It's kind of sad.

Like I get being upset when a game you really wanted isn't discounted enough. That's fine. (I was bummed about Factorio.)

But the incredulous tone some take over it is quite irksome. Just reads so, ungrateful, bratty & entitled.
what happens is that people buy a ton of games on Steam, and then when the sale comes around everything with a good discount is something already in their library

this leads to people going "there's nothing I even want, this sale sucks", etc.

Couple questions:

How is Hyper Light Drifter? Is it super difficult in an annoying way? I love the art style, but I'm always hesitant when buying games that have a Souls-like stigma to them. I love Souls games but nothing else has nailed what makes them fun.

Is the Resident Evil 4 PC version okay? I feel like playing through it again but not if it has tons of issues.

Is Resident Evil 6 worth playing? I've played every main RE except 6 and feel I should at least check it out. I'm a person who really enjoyed 5, if that means anything.

Thanks!

I just played through RE6 a few months ago when it released on PS4. The game is great fun with it's over-the-top action sequences. I've not played very many Resident Evil games, but I really liked 6.

I think it comes from having lived through a time where these sales were an amazing biannual event that you'd spend months looking forward to, a time when you could expect insanely deep discounts on the things you've been hoping to play.

Nowadays, between the rise of quality bundles (some of the Humble publisher bundles have been crazy) and less of the really heavy discounts that the Steam sales used to be known for, the Summer and Winter Sales have started feeling less like events and more like... well... just another sale. So yeah, it's kind of disappointing. Sorry if people expressing that sentiment get under your skin, but hey.

Why did they get rid of flash and daily sales? Did their economist tell them it was a bad idea?

Because of how refunds work nowadays, they are avoiding inevitable mass refunds when someone finds out the game they just bought for 20 dollars is now 10 dollars on the daily deal.

The steam controller isnt exactly plug in and play. You often need to configure it for best possible use. But if you pick the top community configuration and adjust to your liking, you should have it down fairly quickly. But you're probably still going to have to deal with occasional keyboard prompts in certain games.

They way I look at it is, most of these games probably aren't going to go up in price.
And which ones do you think you will beat between now and the Winter sale?

Witcher, GTAV, Pillars, and D:OS are all 80 hour games.

Given the local co-op aspect, probably just D:OS out of all of those...
