I haven't followed the referendum closely since I don't live in the UK but can someone tell me what they think about this comment:

Vote Leave : to regain our sovereignty and democratic control over those who govern us; to untether ourselves from the failing Eurozone; to regain control of our borders; to enable us to end to the housing crisis; to reduce pressure on schools, the NHS and transport; to say no to concreting over our green belts; to raise wages ; to save 136m/week in net EU fees; to deport criminals; and to deny freedom of movement to (unknown) terrorists.

Vote Remain : to drive up rents and property prices for BTL landlords; to ensure a steady supply of cheap labour for big business; to enable politicians to spin the illusion of prosperity by quoting rising GDP figures... due to the increasing population; to bolster egos by creating a bigger Britain with more clout on the world stage; to keep paying fat salaries to 10,000s of EU bureaucrats; and, as a thank-you if you like breathing diesel pollution.

I voted to leave because I believe it is inevitable that the UK will leave the EU. The UK should never have joined the EU we are a completely different mindset to our European counterparts. There would have come a crunch point in the future when the UK would have had to commit fully to being in the EU (euro and all that crap) or GTFO.

My reason for voting to leave now rather than later is that I believe leaving now is the UK's best chance to survive outside a United States of Europe. It is going to fucking hurt bad now, there is going to be a lot of pain now. But it will be nothing compared to the pain we would suffer if we stayed in for another 15-20 years and then left.

Plus there is a nice lil bonus that it was a big "fuck you" to Cameron. But that didn't factor into my decision it is just a nice lil perk.

Alright, thanks.

As a Scottish born.... Glasgow here, but part of US-Gaf. I will have to say what if GB leaves, will that leave the door open for Scotland to leave?

There's a 500,000 lead for Leave now. There's no way Remain can win.

What will be interesting is to see how the remaining Tory party can manage to run London and the rest of England simultaneously with the same set of laws.

bruh..

So does this mark the beginning of the end for the European Union as we've known it?

As far as I understand the UK is one of the founding countries and the largest next to Germany right? So...

How easy is it to get an dual Irish passport if my Mum has dual citizenship and my grandparents are Irish?

One thing I've been a bit confused about – could Wales or Ireland leave while the rest of Britain remains? Or is it a winner-take-all situation?

Ireland isn't part of the UK.

This is a referendum on the UK's EU membership. That is Northern Irelandz Wales, England, Scotland, Gibraltar, etc.

This will probably lead to Scotland having another referendum on being part of the UK.

I say this as a Remain guy but judging by my family it was simple patriotism. They want their country back.

Shrug, it may not be a logical motivation but is not a racist one either. Just simple love of country.

"I want my country back", what the fuck does that even mean? It basically translates to "I want everyone in Britian to be British!"

It's just racism.

And we've done this to ourselves.

Gonna get worse.
Consider your PS4s about 10% pricier, roughly. Or anything imported at all, really.
Lower currency isn't all bad, though. Should mean more jobs.
City is gonna get wrecked, though. EU's gonna move everything it can to Frankfurt, probably.

Also, GBP 1.39, officially as low as the charts i can find go.
Nasdaq, S&P, Nikkei down 3%.
Oil down 4%, Gold up 3%

Oh, it's plenty racist and xenophobic. What exactly do they mean by "wanting their country back" and what exactly that does that entail?

Right, sorry. I always forget about the Ireland distinction. Thanks for clarifying.
