I'm sitting here doing it now. 30 mins in and almost done
EX Horn does like 700 Stun, it's pretty nutsI really like the dolls in the story, they all had very interesting designs. I actually took it easy on them to see what their fighting styles were, they're all pretty unique actually. I like the one with the horn, man, she could be a terror in this game if playable.
I ran into a Neccali wall, in the 3rd fight, I SUCK with Sim, can't play him don't know any of his set ups, it's like watching a complete scrub play SF....gonna have to go into training learn some Sim to beat this fucker..
Edit: no need for training mode i just spam the hell out of standing medium punch and kept him out of my space and won....
How much stun does EX horn do?I really like the dolls in the story, they all had very interesting designs. I actually took it easy on them to see what their fighting styles were, they're all pretty unique actually. I like the one with the horn, man, she could be a terror in this game if playable.
Maybe a stupid question but if I buy a story costume for Ken can I use it online?
Yep, all costumes can.
I really don't understand why people wanted story mode waste of rescourses where they could have used for creating more characters and improving gameplay. There is nothing fun about fighting CPU. Main thing that makes fighting games fun is fighting against people, against CPU theres no strategy, nothing fun about fighting mindless oponent. Also another thing about story mode in fighting games there no reason to replay.

Yeah I got him tooSo uhh how am I supposed to beat Bison as a noob? He spams non stop and he always blocks your counters and then punishes. It's kind of ridiculous lol
JK nvm I got him
No, you're not, I think I'm going to redownload that and give this game a very long rest.Personally, I think this game is a failure and I miss SFIV. Am I alone?
Nothing wrong with that - the game, even with this silly story mode, isn't worth full price with a roster of that size, so I'm also refusing to paying money for the extra characters.
I admittedly shelved the game since launch online woes, but I was gobsmacked to get disconnected from the shitting single player story mode seven times and then realise I had to get logged in or I wouldn't get the fight money.
Personally, I think this game is a failure and I miss SFIV. Am I alone?
Ken does a shinryuken in story mode. You think we'll ever see that animation in-game? S2 perhaps?

the game released without single player content and bombed.
focusing on the competituve scene will kill this franchise. casuals matter, and casuals just one content to play through.
Its nothing to do with focusing on competitive scene. Its about making the gameplay which it is not at the moment. They waste alot of recources on story mode. Story mode in fighting games is meaningless as it adds nothing to the game. There is nothing fun about fighting a brainless CPU. They could use those recourses to add characters for example. Nobody is really gonna be replaying a story mode in a fighter. Rather just get an anime made if people really want to know about the story because there is no reason to play it.
Not everyone wants to play online competitive, some people just want a damn arcade mode, bad habits be damned. Also fighting a brainless CPU or a CPU that cheats with impossible timing or reads inputs makes you a bad player, it teaches you bad habits which cripple your play and mindset over time.
I used to practice SFIV 3DS on my bus ride home from college because of the fact the AI was so godlike. It's actually a good way to train and see if you really are safe on certain attacks or supposed "block strings".Also fighting a brainless CPU or a CPU that cheats with impossible timing or reads inputs makes you a bad player, it teaches you bad habits which cripple your play and mindset over time.
The main problem being that the game should've shipped with arcade mode to begin with. If it did, then it would've been a better overall package. While I don't have statistics or even the industry knowledge on this, I wouldn't be surprised if Street Fighter V sold better and had a more positive reception. I think it would've sold better because then the casual/"I'm just here to have fun" guys can play something else after survival and arcade mode while it would've given the game a more positive reception for having more content. Before story mode:
"Capcom are idiots for just making online and versus content! SF5 is a shitty game with the bare minimum of content, nothing to do for a single player and it's not worth your money."
After story mode:
"Capcom are idiots for making a story mode that noone wants! SF5 is a shitty game with resources wasted on single player content when they could make more characters and improve the online and it's not worth your money."
Seriously, if I were Capcom (and the company didn't pretty much hinge on this game surviving), I'd say a big "fuck you all" to all these "fans" and then revoke all licenses for this, USF4, SF3O and any other Capcom fighter released, and never make another fighting game again.
People play video games for different reasons than you and enjoy different aspects of themIts nothing to do with focusing on competitive scene. Not everyone cares about that. Also fighting a brainless CPU or a CPU that cheats with impossible timing or reads inputs makes you a bad player, it teaches you bad habits which cripple your play and mindset over time.
don't worry. if capcom never makes a fighting game we can subsist on games with real tutorials like GG, games with real online networking like KI and games with real sales like MK.
- Slow menus and matchmaking even story mode has too many loading screens
- Star tracking still doesn't work. What was the point of adding this if Capcom haven't fixed this it's been months since launch
- check who is online out of your CFN friends. There is a big that shows what your CFN friend was doing online last but no way to know if they are online right now.
- The color unlocking system. Capcom needs to get called out for this. All past Street Fighter games in history had colors available. In this you have to go through a shit mode just to unlock a color. The AI is brain dead until the past few fights which makes it a chore if you lose and the load times are awful. Finally when you do unlock a color it's only for 1 costume.
- Lack of Arcade Mode. Yes this is a big deal used to like waiting for a online fight while playing Arcade Mode.
- Rage Quit penalty this one is a joke. After Capcom had so many Betas and there last entry had this why would they not remember to implement this.
The money you earn online is probably worth significantly less than the time it takes to earn it. This game is a bummer in many ways for people who don't want to play online but I wouldn't worry much about the fight money aspect of it at least in its current form.I wouldn't mind replaying modes if you earn FM each time, even if it was half from the first time.
But what sucks is that everything single player related is made to be done once and move on. No more fight money, no nothing and only earned by completing it the first time. So if you lose at fight #100 in survival, sorry no fight money.
Like I won 50 FM for winning a Ranked Natch. Which amounts to nothing, but still...why not let me win 50 FM also for playing versus locally?
Or give me 20FM for ever 4 hit combo in local versus...or stuff like that. Or 1k FM for replaying each character's story mode.
Those of us that don't play much online and can't do much to earn Fight Money.

I thought the story mode was great, and no less ludicrous than the average Mortal Kombat story. I would definitely pay for a second season. I'd also totally pay (fight money) for a Doll pack.
Anyone have a list of the unique stages/characters? I'm trying to estimate how much FM to save up for when they inevitably have them up for sale.
Oh, it's definitely bullshit and needs to be changed (nothing worse than getting to fight 29 and then, oops!, server disconnect), but let's not pretend that Street Fighter IV didn't have colors (and characters!) that needed to be unlocked.
I asked this in another topic, but have high quality screens/videos of Gill's model been released by anyone yet?
Story Mode costumes are also 40k.Alternate stages 40k
New original stages 70k
New characters 100k
Seems nobody has ripped Gill yet.

I meant a list of the unique characters and stages that are currently exclusive to story mode. It'll be interesting to see what they charge for them. The new stages are rather plain, and most of the unique characters have only one or two specials, but it'd still be neat to be able to select them.

That's not the way it works. Unless you're an indie you probably don't have the story made by the team that handles the DLC characters.
I think the biggest irony in all of the Story Mode discussion is that probably 100% of the people who said "bu but single player content is for l0s3rs, online is the only thing that matters, stay free scrubs" played thru Story Mode.![]()

To compare the frustration of the unlocking system in SFIV in comparison to SFV. Is like someone comparing between walking 20 miles and driving 20 miles.
