Dark souls 1 or Dark Souls 2? Thinking Dark Souls 1 since its cheaper. Not sure if i'll enjoy the series.

Well

I played through one route in Cyber City 2157. I have no idea what's going on. While some story strands seemed interesting, they all went nowhere in the route I took and ultimately felt pointless. As the english was quite terrible at times, I have absolutely no incentive to try out the other routes:

Hmh what to play next now that I'm done with Blood & Wine for Witcher 3. Thinking about going in for the expansions for Fallout 4 or maybe Shadowrun Hong Kong.

Best thing about the end of the sale: no more going through the queue to unlock cards.
If going through the queue was more smooth/responsive and I didn't need to do it thrice, I probably wouldn't find it as annoying as I do, but as it stands I can only think bring back voting, which will never happen.

A Gaffer made a script for that. You hit the queue button and it goes through the rest automatically.

I'm at a conundrum with pillars and Wasteland 2

On one hand I want both of them and I'll probably enjoy both of them but I won't get around to either of them for a while since I have three big rpg timesinks in divinity original sin, kingdoms of amalur and fable anniversary

I just don't know how far in the future they'll go on bigger sales and I don't wanna miss out while they're already on sale

Dark Souls 1 is the best entry in the series.

Well, it was before Bloodborne and DS3 came in with their undeniably better and faster gameplay, and actually finished second halves of the game.

DS1 will probably always be my favorite though. It's one of those games like Super Mario 64 or Super Metroid. All time great.

thoroughly disgusted by Sudoku Quest being a buggy mess, uninstalled.
Seriously, how can you make a game without even a possibility to start anew, when bugs literally prevent you from advancing. To be frank, it looked mighty suspicious even before I bought it,

Personally I liked Pillars way way more. I actually stopped playing Wasteland 2 halfway through it. Though other seem to really like it.

I'm hard pressed to think of a WRPG/CRPG I stopped playing so I'm sure I'll love them both, it's just whether to wait for bigger price drops or not. I also wanna play Pillars with the White March Expansions but it's only 25% off.

Wait for real? I was thinking of picking up that indie gala bundle mainly for this. Reviews seemed positive, too.

Played about 1 hour of Ghost 1.0 and it seems fantastic. UnEpic was already one of my favorite metroidvanias on steam and this one already seems much better / more polished.

but what charity?
can i pick specific charity?

Doctors Without Borders. You're basically donating to SGDQ and getting a few great games on the side.

Doctors Without Borders
doctorswithoutborders.org
Payments to Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) are made via the PayPal Giving Fund.

Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international, independent medical humanitarian
organization that delivers emergency aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, natural and man-made
disasters, and exclusion from health care in nearly 70 countries.

You can also click on "Choose your charity" at the bottom of the page. I'm not sure how much ends up going towards it.

I found my missing GPU. 290x 8GB TriX from BST.

Remember how I wanted the best value per dollar? Ding ding!

There are more for sale.

Can anyone tell me what War for the Overworld is like and if it's worth it? I like dungeon-keeper style games but i remember there being some problems with this early on.

Is there anything useful that I can do with my spare sale trading cards at this point? I can't sell them in the marketplace as prior to this sale I'd not bought anything direct from Steam in ages, and any trades will go on hold for 24 hours as I've only recently added a mobile authentication to my account.

I'm one card (Enjoying the little things) short of being able to craft a second badge... so is my only worthwhile option to turn them into 'gems'?

Aside from that, I'm trying to decide whether I really want Endless Legend... I've not been able to convince myself just yet.

I've been adding a bunch of HLTB info and noticed a couple of things with the search.

The search strings don't include any punctuation like colons, apostrophes, or hyphens, which makes it unable to find certain games (e.g. Qbeh-1: The Atlas Cube, Robot Roller-Derby Disco Dodgeball, Organ Trail: Director's Cut, Tron 2.0, etc)

The names of some games on Steam are different enough from their HLTB database entries that it can't find them either (e.g. D4: Dark Dreams Don’t Die -Season One-, ENSLAVED™: Odyssey to the West™ Premium Edition, Resident Evil / biohazard HD REMASTER, Victor Vran ARPG, BlazBlue: Chronophantasma Extend, Mushihimesama, etc). Mushihimesama in particular has two entries on HLTB for some reason, one being Mushihimesama, and the other being Mushihime-sama. The former is the only one that shows up, while the majority of entries are recorded under the latter. Perhaps a way to manually link to the correct page would be beneficial here?

Finally, I noticed that the hour count doesn't show up for Europa Universalis IV. Wasn't sure if that was by design or not, given the nature of the game.

First of all, thank you very much for taking the time to link up some games!

Punctuation and wording on game title names are things I knew would be an issue, I plan on building a pre-populated search system into that page so that you can edit the game name accordingly and search to find the exact entry. With any luck, that will be done in the next week or so - I'll post about it here (well, the regular Steam community thread once the sale ends) when it's done. Being able to edit the search string should fix the naming and punctuation issues without requiring people to manually enter the IDs, but I didn't have time to fully and safely implement it in time for the feature's release.

As for Europa Universalis IV - Enhanced Steam looks for HLTB's usual "Main Story", "Main + Extra", and "Completionist" times, which it also translates into 26 different languages. While Europa Universalis has these fields, in the search it shows up as "Solo", "Co-op", and "Vs" which throws a wrench in things. I might have to update the scraper to check if it encounters that issue to try and just get the "Solo" stats which are broken out into the proper categories.

Thanks again for helping out, and keep an eye out soon for a search option on that page that should help link these types of games.

I need some convincing to buy Axiom Verge.

The price is a bit above my value perception for an 14 months old indie game.

The game is a love letter to the original Metroid in tone and gameplay while also having it's own unique take on upgrades. If you care about the difference between Metroid-like games and Metroidvania, you'll probably appreciate the game.
