Fox 10 just reported the arrest of a guy with flak jacket on. Probably not a shooter since the guy was in the crowd talking with his friends, the reporter said he was standing less than 10 feet from the guy before the police told him to step forward and arrested him.

That was scary as fuck. Everybody started running the other way, complete chaos. I ran several blocks to get to a train and got out of downtown. Had a friend come pick me up from a station at the end of the line.
Until then, the protest was 100% peaceful and positive. Police had blocked off the road for us, none of the protesters were egging on the officers or anything -- the atmosphere was very friendly.

When I see these threads I am always reminded about how if you know the right people you can buy just about any kind of gun. Still real surprised that gun show loop hole is still around, that's how they get on the streets. Black market guns also get traded a lot, like hot potato. People say gun regulation and all the gun nuts hear is a ban.

They grabbed a guy from the crowd who had body armor and a mask on. There was no incident, I imagine it's the cops just being careful.
Sounds like they classified them as snipers due to an elevated position.

I think there is absolutely an institutional-level problem with police authority in the US, but there is no way anyone, police or otherwise, should be injured or killed over this mess. RIP to the police and dammit I hope this is the last time I have to say RIP in relation to gun violence ever again.

RIP officers. I may find the police institution corrupt and overall not serving in the best interest of the citizens, especially those that are not White, but I would fucking never wish this on anybody. These people were likely perfectly fine human beings just doing their jobs. Their poor families tonight.

About a year ago I had an idea for a graphic novel where the general population was fed up with the way police were handling people, specifically minorities, and violent protests began popping up.
So the government, in an effort to not only appease the people but also to try to gain some control, enacts martial law.
I never went ahead with it as it seemed a little too grim and perhaps close to home.
Unfortunately if this keeps escalating I can foresee something like that happening, and then shit can really get out of hand.
