Shots fired at Police during Dallas Police anti-violence protest (5 officers killed)

Based on some video NBC5 had earlier, sounds like they've got semi-auto rifles.

Lot of rapid gunfire when you start hearing shooting.

A .22 can technically be a sniper rifle. They are definitely semi auto as well. But that sounded like a much larger caliber round.
 
Yea it sounds like these people were trained. Shoot from elevated position, body armor etc. They knew what they were doing and it was definitely planned.
 
f the snipers were able to pick out police officers in the crowd to hit upwards of 10, then there's a skill and preparation element here that's terrifying

Well that is surprising, because you have two people coordinate, managing to get into specific elevated positions with their weapons to target cops. That means they were probably very much trained and ready to act at any time, knowing how to get into position without being spotted, etc.
 
The chances of these guys getting caught gets worse exponentially every hour they don't have anyone in custody. The weapons (can be determined partially by the bullets) they used won't be of much use as they'll surly be common in Texas. If it's true that there are TWO snipers than this is more sinister than a lone-nut trying to disparage the BLM movement. On top of that, this protest was spur of the moment, that means these sniper(s) worked out their plan in a moments notice.

Right, but now their whattabout is a half dozen officers murdered during a peaceful protest. It carries a little more weight. It's also going to fuel more anger when this story gets more national attention than the countless unarmed pedestrians shot by police.
 
I am absolutely stunned that someone was able to TARGET and pick off police officers like that. I mean, wow. Sounds like something right out of a video game or a movie.

if they wanted to be linked to BLM, I would assume they would have been on ground level and been with the crowd.

not like people who do this really have much of an exit plan to begin with, but it seems like they're doing pretty good so far considering it doesn't sound like they are in custody or even have a decent lock on their position.

I mean, can't think of anyone getting out of the area after this (unless they were really fast and bolted directly after the attack?), they are probably hunkered down in whatever building they used to fire from. Police are going to do door to door searches in the entire area.
 
I think its more disturbing that people are screaming and yelling at the police when they detained and handcuffed that guy, this is a chaotic scene with deaths at hand, of course anyone who appears suspicious will be removed. But the fact that people are going to go into an uproar when police are trying to take control of the situation.

RIP to the officers who were only doing their job and my sincerest thoughts to those who are fighting for their lives. This is such a horrible act and truly senseless.
 
It appears the police chief is black. Sigh. Makes me prone to believe that it was someone taking advantage of this opportunity and not someone involved in the actual protest. Anyone in that crowd would presumably know (assume? hope?) that their police chief as a black man wouldn't put up with that shit.

Oh there is zero doubt. They took advantage of this protest to do this. There is no doubt they were trained. To pull of what they did took a lot of training.

i think they were yelling to police that the guy wasnt a shooter. It seemed to me that they were concerned gas mask man would get shot because the police are kind of high alert atm. Thankfully.. both gas mask man and guy with the SUV were stopped without trigger fingers slipping like with Dorner.

I don't even know what to say. Everything has been such an uphill battle. When I read about the protests earlier I so happy to see it wasn't a repeat of Ferguson and the protestors were being treated and protected like humans. I feel like I'm going to cry. Fuck everything, I hate people.

I don't buy the sniper theory, I mean, they must had been AAA tier snipers, like, CIA tier to target and shoot cops only at great heights.
