Well like I said. I don't know who's responsible for these shootings, but I'm honestly shocked it hasn't happened sooner.

I've always said eventually if nothing changes something like this is bound to happen. Because you have people that are at the brink, that don't give a fuck and want chaos at this point.

I mean look at our politicians, look at how the media handles these things. Tensions are high on both sides.

Yup and it just keeps building and building. It's time for people to stand up and push for real reforms. I was for reasonable gun rights but now I truly don't know. I really don't. We need to do something though. I think I really need to re-evaluate my position on gun rights.

Bloody hell, i'm meant to be travelling to the US - Austin next Saturday for a week with my job...passing through Dallas on a stopover for a connecting flight.

Is the US actually dangerous now?? This sort of shit scares the crap out of me.

It's understandable to be scared, but you have a bigger chance of being killed in a car crash going to the airport than you do being shot.

I don't buy the sniper theory, I mean, they must had been AAA tier snipers, like, CIA tier to target and shoot cops only at great heights.

Not really, anyone can buy and use a scope without any formal training. Just because ten are shot, doesn't mean their was a degree or precision either, from the videos it sounded like tons of semi auto fire raining down. These could be amateur shooters for all we know. We also don't know any details of height or distances the shots were made from .

It's really not looking like a theory based on reports. Semi-auto weapons + Scopes + Ambush = mass casualties before anyone can react.

No, you'll be fine.

Water is not wet!
Snipers rifles or not.

To pick off cops like that? From an elevated position? That quickly?

Whoever these guys were, they were prepared, and they knew how to shoot.

Firing down on a line of cops in a surprise attack with semi-automatic rifles doesnt sound very hard to me. Thats basically a shooting gallery.

I see, makes sense when you put it like that. Still, that there was some kind of preparation and synch is terrifying.

I fear that the issue of police brutality is going to be pushed to the wayside because of this. Fuck. What a mess. My heart goes out to the families of the dead and wounded.

This is why the second amendment needs to be changed. When guns are so readily available, this can and will happen. People are angry and emotional and they have guns.

The US is very big, we have over 300 million people. Not trying to downplay this, but Austin is a great town and has a low crime rate for its population. You gotta keep living life, even in the face of tragedies like this

Just when you thought race relations in this country couldn't get any more fucked up. It's gonna be disgusting to watch Trump try and capitalize off of this tomorrow.
I'm surprised he hasn't tweeted already, he's probably trying to think of how he can use this to prove that he was right all along.

This is horrific. And despite knowing it was two snipers from elevated positions, people are still going to blame this on BLM.

Huh, they interviewed a few of the protesters that were there, and one had said someone spit on them from up in the building (parking garage?) right before the shots started.

11 injured, 3 dead, some injured in an exchange of gunfire with one of the suspects. Releasing a picture of a "person of interest" soon.

Lets not act like this is true 100% of the time.

It is true, police are not trained to shoot someone that is complying with their orders. 1000s of people are arrested everyday, not shot, because they complied with the direct orders given to them by the police.
