When violence isn't handled, when people who need to answer for brutality don't get questioned, civilians think they need to take things into their own hands.

I so agree with everything he stated in this clip. I have personal reasons for this as well.

My best friend from when I was 4 years old to 27 years old is now a Lieutenant of the Homicide Division in a very large city where I am from in NJ. Needless to say he worked his way up the ranks in the police department, so he started as a plainclothes cop on the beat like most cops do.

We had a falling out when I was 27 and only recently reconnected about 2 years ago. We are nowhere near as close as we once were, but we at least talk again.

His response to the two shootings the past two days has been unreal to me. I know my man. He is smart. Reasonable. He is absolutely streetsmart. Has to be to work in the city he works. But all he does is defend fellow cops no matter what. The typical stuff like "we have families too" and "if you do not comply this is what can happen." It goes on and on and on and on.

I know deep down, especially with the latest shooting of my man whose girlfriend did the live Facebook video, he has to know that was just straight up murder. But he will never say so. Never. And it just boggles my mind as to how that can even be possible. If cops only admitted when a fellow cop was clearly in the wrong it would go so a long way in letting the public know not all cops are like that.

Instead they defend themselves no matter what the situation, and well, that is when shit like this happens.

People have a breaking point. In fact I am surprised they have not reached it yet.
It looks like it may finally have been reached. Shit has the potential to get real ugly if others decide enough is enough across the country. One spark is all it takes. Let's just hope this was not it.

Ya think he was the only guy open carrying a long rifle in Dallas that day?

:lol okay

Probably the only one in the crowd in which a few minutes later a rifle goes off and kills police. It's your due diligence to share that info to police if you saw a man with a rifle earlier.

No.

If anything is to blame, it's fucking stupid-as-shit open carry laws.

Well yes this. But anyway the timing was very unfortunate for him.

@CorySmithNBC5 spoke to brother of person of interest. Said he gave his gun to officers when shooting started.

Not a suspect...I honestly hope CNN gets sued. He is a person of interest. The chief said Person of Interest. Showing his picture is fine since the Police Chief asked for more information, but don't say he is a suspect until they do.

Well CNN (Don Lemon) is still calling him a suspect (person of interest according to the police), and apparently will soon air the video that we all watched.

He just acknowledged a video exists regarding the person mentioned. Saying they will show it as soon as they can. So hopefully that helps.

The guy was a POI because he was carrying an ASSUALT RIFLE. Citizens did the RIGHT thing by sending in pics of him to police. The second the POLICE released the pic the news had to report it. There is no one to blame but the guy with the rifle.

Damn another cop dead. RIP

According to the guy's brother, a number of people showed up to the protest with guns since it's an open carry state.

We'll reserve judgment as to how the Dallas PD got this guy's photo, if it's from eye witnesses, fine. We can't fault them for that.

If they got it from tips from the Internet? Fuck. That.

There is a video of the suspect when the shooting happened. He looks confused

It was pretty obvious this guy wouldn't be involved.

You plan a very well thought out attack on police from elevated positions, and just beforehand...you walk through the crowd carrying around your gun? It would just be an incredibly stupid risk to take when you could be stopped and questioned even in an open carry state prior to carrying out your attack.

As a native of DFW, its really disgusting the amount of stereotyping most people here are spewing about the city. It is home to various liberal colleges SMU, UTD, etc. People acting like seeing someone with a gun in public is would be viewed as normal are the same idiots who think all Texans go to work on horseback and a cowboy hat.
Some of the most liberal people I've had the pleasure to know and meet live in Texas.
I think Austin might be one of the most Liberal cities in the entire country.
It's always a shame when people stereotype an entire people for no reason just because of where they're from or the color of their skin.

DPD's twitter fucked up and used "Suspect"

Am I a terrible person to hope that the shooters aren't black or Muslim?
No, you're right to hope that I think. Not that it makes the actions any better if they're not, but you just know that there will be even more hatred and violence if they are.

CNN now asking how this guy is involved cause CNN now has seen the video that was posted in this thread of this guy being confused. Course Neil Fanklin still is all like he very well could have been involved. So they're way behind the curve still.

MSNBC reporting about the brother being on CBS.

It was quite sad because while they were going over the information, the twitter video of the POI standing around while everything is going on was playing on their side-by-side shot. Surprised nobody in the news room noticed.

Don Lemon you dumb son of a bitch, he just said he could be involved though there is video of him confused and flustered

So, the Dallas Police Department tweeted the man's picture with the caption "This is one of our suspects. Please help us find him!"

WTF?
