Listening to KFI 640 A.M, one of the radio host who is ex military say's that the shooter is a well trained perp. This opinion is based on video of the shooter killing a officer, using tactics that he has been trained to put in action when exchanging gun fire in close quarters.

He also believes it's possible, there's only one shooter.

You claim that literacy rates are higher in the West? You're wrong, they're just stable in developed countries. In fact, none of those stats are significantly different in the most developed Western countries than they were 10 years ago. I'd like to see where you get your stats. I think you're throwing the rest of the world in here when it was irrelevant to the statement.

What are the odds this was some ISIS sleeper cell thing or just one of these random nutjob independent actors that has sworn allegiance to ISIS who thinks they can sow some civil war in the U.S. or something stupid like that?

Edit: Nevermind, yeah, they would have killed more people/people in the crowd if it was ISIS.

If this was, why would they target cops? The MO is to do the most damage so why wouldn't they shoot up the protest?

ISIS people wouldn't be taken alive and they would kill indiscriminately.

They wouldn't give two shits about just killing cops. They would just want to kill as many people as possible.

Five police officers all died in one incident. Is this the deadliest mass shooting of the police in US history? Google shows me a mass shooting in Lakewood, Washington that resulted in four officers dying.

Unless I'm mistaken on what you're saying, the shooter has the tan pants on and isn't the guy closer to the camera. The guy walking is (I assume) unrelated. The shooter is in the background past him and he rushes the cop behind the pillar.

Actual ISIS would have more likely just lit up the protest itself since they go for mass casualties. And it it were some ISIS-inspired homegrowns why are they targetting only police?

It seems more likely that it's specifically an anti-police thing, which is why most of the speculation is that it's either militia movement or radicals who want to lash out after the shootings earlier this week. But it seems so well planned that it's hard to think it's spontaneous and not something that latched onto the protest to use it as cover.

yeah, i think the cop had defensive position facing a different shooter and the guy who comes into frame towards the end there shot the cop in the back... he couldn't have expected that... so disgusting...

Actually an ISIS sympathsizer showed up in my hometown of garland earlier this year and was shot and killed by an officer. But I don't think ISIS had a hand in this.
