Well the good thing about the 24 news cycle, in a week this will just be a footnoteThe all lives matter morons are out of the woodwork now. Fucking maddening.

Yea, this was my point. No idea why some guy responded to my post with all lives matter. People are dumb and this shooting is an excuse to double down on dumb shit. The all lives matter morons are out of the woodwork now. Fucking maddening.
And no, BLM is not done by any means. But we're in a very different and more divisive world than we were two days ago. Instead of coming together, people will be more steadfast and divided. There's zero room for nuance with the majority of people out there, sadly.
happens all the time, it's nothing
Not totally related, but Nashville just decommissioned an officer for stating on Facebook, Yeah. I would have done 5 in an apparent reference to the number of shots in the Minnesota case.

Dallas police chief said they weren't going to militarize in response but yeah I can see some other communities responding in that manner.
Listening to conversations on the radio. At work. On Facebook.
We are completely back to square one.
Don't count on it. I imagine this will cause more towns and states to make laws against BLM.
The all lives matter morons are out of the woodwork now. Fucking maddening.
How can you make a law against BLM without violating the first ammendment?
If media still has some hint of public responsibility and accountability they should stress very well the difference between a peaceful civil rights movement and a deadly act of someone that on surface could have the same goals but using a radically different strategy to achieve them. Failure to do so only will result in even more radicalisation. Hence all the care authorities are showing on releasing info on the suspect to the public. They need to have all the details right before doing so.

It seems they only come out when white people get killed.
One tweet from Donald Trump will change all the media coverage.
Last night’s horrific execution-style shootings of 12 Dallas law enforcement officers – five of whom were killed and seven wounded- is an attack on our country. It is a coordinated, premeditated assault on the men and women who keep us safe.
We must restore law and order. We must restore the confidence of our people to be safe and secure in their homes and on the street.
The senseless, tragic deaths of two motorists in Louisiana and Minnesota reminds us how much more needs to be done.
This morning I offer my thoughts and prayers for all of the victims’ families, and we pray for our brave police officers and first responders who risk their lives to protect us every single day.
Our nation has become too divided. Too many Americans feel like they’ve lost hope. Crime is harming too many citizens. Racial tensions have gotten worse, not better. This isn’t the American Dream we all want for our children.
This is a time, perhaps more than ever, for strong leadership, love and compassion. We will pull through these tragedies.
Nah, not true.Let's be real here. Anyone who believed this was already against the movement.
Just saw an interview on Good Morning America saying the police were taking pictures with the protestors, talking to them, supporting their movement right before being gunned down. Crazy. This gonna stir up too much shit, no one wins.
Wait for it... it will happenhe's already (smartly) gave his twitter account to a handler for the day
his response this morning was measured and respectful
You can't.How can you make a law against BLM without violating the first amendment?
Which is funny because they don't even really care about white lives. All lives matter just means 'let's shut up and keep the status quo.' They'll mention police killing white people, not as a protest but to get us to stop talking about any police killings. It seems they only come out when white people get killed.
Yep. Shameful. It seems they only come out when white people get killed.
I thought those controlled explosives were of a small in power to set off another explosive, not instantly kill someone. I didn't even think there radius was that big, the robot would have to be right on the guy.
And honestly, that's crazy. I'm sorry but if I'm an officer assigned to ANY rally or protest(no matter what it is) I'm requesting full body armor. That's just common sense. It's been established they're targets now. Disagree with the chief and I'm sure the police union will too.

Prayers and condolences to all of the families who are so thoroughly devastated by the horrors we are all watching take place in our country.
Yeah, that really confused me. Seemed like he was advocating for someone else with tbe last part.he's already (smartly) gave his social media accounts to a handler for the day

I wouldn't be surprised if the intent was to disable/disorient the suspect and the charge prove more effective than thought.I'm pretty sure that controlled explosions are a small shaped charge directed at the trigger/detonator. The objective is to blast the trigger/denotator away without triggering the main charge.
Rigging it to be used as an offensive weapon sounds possible, but it sounds like some crazy improvisation.
I'd create some elaborate joke about the ironic bomb-disposal robot, but this situation is fucked up beyond belief.
I seriously hope that people over there can keep a cool head that this tragedy encourage the police and public to pull together in shared grief.
Can the president declare state of emergency and pass some more restrictive gun laws and police reforms laws in case like this?
Because that's the only way i see america doing those things after this episode. I feel like there's no hope otherwise.
Thanks a lot asshole for resetting the clock. For the first time, we had a Governor specifically bring race into the discussion with police. It seemed like the goalposts had at least moved a little towards the excessive violence actually being an issue here.
Now in one fell swoop, this asshole wiped all that away, and now it'll be all about killing the BLM movement, and the death of 5 police officers and one black man's hatred for white people.
Wow that's actually a very classy and respectful responce. So basically no way Trump wrote it.he's already (smartly) gave his social media accounts to a handler for the day

I know people were looking for this last night, so here's what Trump has to say via Twitter and Facebook (as always, avoid the comments):

Edit: Whoops, already posted.
Much better than I was expecting from The Donald.
No. And no one should have that power. Can the president declare state of emergency and pass some more restrictive gun laws and police reforms laws in case like this?

Nah, not true.
I was feeling super crummy yesterday after the Minnesota shooting. The first thing that cheered me up was seeing how well the Dallas PD was respecting BLM's right to protest. It wasn't a warzone like Ferguson was. Just humans treating each other like humans. This could've been used as a shining example on how to handle things in the future, and instead it's been marred by this monster's actions.
I guess I have no choice but to find peace with this. No matter what the intention, people who want to push a dismissive agenda were going to push it anyways. It already happened in NY, somebody was going to attempt to escalate things further. It was inevitable. For everyone out that believes in BLM's message, please don't lose hope. This is going to be an uphill battle regardless of what happens.

There's a pretty graphic news clip of him. It doesn't end well.Where was the good guy with a gun.
Racial tensions have gotten worse, not better.

Another issue this has opened is White Supremacist groups now have been given a reason to react.
