Pokémon Go |OT| As in "Go Outside"

The castle is a gym, and autopia and Jungle Cruise seem to be the perfect rides becuase they are slow and cluttered with pokemons and pokestops. Also the artifcial river and lakes count as real, so theres a bunch of water types mixed with normals. Really hopping people start encountering ghost types near haunted mansion lol


If Universal, TPC and Nintendo dont take advantage of this (with special events, and spots arounf the whole parks) when they make the Nintendo land in Universal's Japan and Orlando, they are wasting their time.

Going to Harry Potter Universal in March. I can't wait to see what Pokemon I can get around there.

I wouldn't be surprised if you see Gamestop get in on the action when Sun/Moon launch, etc. They could get really creative about it.

Are you on Android? I've had this issue and I just slide down the top nav bar and press "Play". Seems to start back up.
Another option is to open GO, press the home button (not force close), turn on your audiobook, then reopen GO. That has worked for me as well.

Lol, agreed. Dude sounds like a closet fan of the game. I've seen those types walking around playing, but not trying to look like they're playing.

But that kills all the Pokémon GO audio for me and I have to rely on feeling the vibration in order to not miss a Pokémon. :(
 
Not getting that many Pokémon despite walking close to a lot of pokestops. No vibration at all when I'm not in the app.

How close do I have to be to the flying grass of the Wave thing to catch one?


Im on an SE with the newest non preview IOS

The app needs to be open at all time. This will change when Go Plus comes out.

It doesn't work if the app isn't open.
 
I wonder if they're planning on compensating for how many times I've used an insense, glitched on my first pokemon from it, couldn't log back in for a while, finally log in, and my insense is almost up.

I just had one where I didn't catch a single pokemon. That I pay money for.

Man, trying to do any gym related stuff is massively frustrating. Find a Valor gym, can't add a Pokemon because They're fighting. Or after the fight. Gets taken over by Yellow, I fight the one Pokemon there. I win, but someone placed a Pigeot while I was fighting and the Jolteon I beat was still there. :/

Also the gym aty work is taken over by a high level Pigeot, Dragonite, and Vaporeon. I tried to at least knock the Pigeot out, but then got hit by the 1 HP glitch.

I don't know how these people have level 1000 pokemon already :(

Yes, multiple times. You beat the gym to lower it's level. Each level you take away removes a trainer. Once you've beaten them enough times it will remove the last trainer, leaving the gym grey and ready to be taken over.
 
So I ordered a Team Instinct shirt from Qwertee.com but it says it won't ship until July 22?

I'm worried the phenomenon will have died down by then and people won't care about my team pride :-/

Yeah I like what this game is doing for local businesses. Would be nice if they got in on these instead of giant corporations that serve crap food like McDonalds

Yeah, I'd imagine for people just getting into it it seems impossible. Just remember you get 6 pokemon to fight, and the gym may have less. If you attack a gym that is the same team as yours, you get one, and each time you defeat a trainer you raise the gym experience. If you raise it to a new level, you can add your pokemon in with theirs. Which takes a long time.
 
Love dropping a pokemon into a gym with an empty slot for my team as I go by it. Also saw a completely empty gym today so I dropped in a Pidgeot. No idea why it had no one in there. The gym had been contested for a long time. I wonder if I accidentally swooped in and took the gym after someone opened it up.
 
If I'm seeing "Failed to get player information from the server.", I'm assuming this is semi-normal in the sense that shit's just gone down / having issues on their end? I have 1.0.2, using a Google account, West Coast.

can you discard unhatched eggs? I have a bunch of 2km ones taking up space and I'd rather those slots be clear in case I get any 5 or 10's from stops
 
Man, the server/performance issues are kind of killing this for me. It's a fun game, but when I go play during lunch it's crashing constantly.
 
So it seems like there are certain spots (some call it "fishing" spots) where you can find a Pokemon consistently over a long period of time. Rare ones, too. There was a guy who found multiple Dratini in one spot over and over again. The parking lot behind my dorm has a lot of random Pokemon appear as well, especially Ghastlys. It would probably be good for you guys to figure out some of these spots in your own areas so you can grind out what's there.

Do you think this was done to get ready for the trading aspect? Maybe for safety reasons they don't want people you trade with to know exactly the area you caught them at. Before it showed all the tiny roads around my apartment and people could figure out where I live based on that.

Game exploded in popularity and is always online, so doesnt surprise me that it has server issues. Should calm down as people move on in a few weeks.

Im very happy that Pokemon is doing so well right now considering it is in my top 3 franchises of all time (Pokemon and Gears at the top). At the same time it also annoys me considering when I play the mainline pokemon games, and I have to explain to people its not just a childrens game and how many adults play it, and that it is super strategic if you play online. Now its a huge phenomenon and its all ok, no questions asked.

Idk, ive liked pokemon my whole life, so i guess it just kind of annoys me that now its 'the cool" thing when before many would say its just childish.
