Yeah. It's been brought up several times in this thread that their response to harassment via their platform has been extremely deficient.Twitter allows ISIS, the KKK, the Westboro Church and Nazi groups on its service.

Well, his Ghosterbusters review on this awful breitbart site is really ... something else. Like a wet dream for any misogynic shithead out there.
But why on earth is Twitter acting now??? After years of years of unpunished hate speech, undeleted ISIS accounts, open harassment and so on, this is now the line that have been crossed for good? I don't know what to think about it tbh
No no no no no.
This is not how you handle people with horrible views. Pushing them away only validates their beliefs and solidifies their fan base further.
Does alt right just mean far right?

Lmaodoes anyone know why milo yiannopoulos is banned
Its not "censoring" conservative views. Its banning someone for directly harassing another person. The things he said about women and black people are terrible, and I wouldn't agree with his views in a million years. But... isn't this a little hypocritical? Basically the way I see this, for example, we're all up on Erdogan's ass for trying to be a dictator and eliminating his opposition. But by doing this, isn't Twitter doing the same by taking a firm stance against anything not left-wing or liberal? Twitter even allows ISIS information to be spread on their service, then where's the limit?? I'm as left-wing as they get, but I don't think censoring is the ideal way to "convert" right-wing/bigoted people. In fact, I think it has a counterproductive effect.
Anyway, thought I'd contribute.
There's a million other right-wing people still on the service and he repeatedly violated the ToS.The things he said about women and black people are terrible, and I wouldn't agree with his views in a million years. Nah, they're the cool Nazis with the spiciest memes.
Yes.Milo's probably stoked.
Yes.Twitter is still garbage.
Twitter is the gutter of the internet, people really care what is being said on twitter ? really ...
At its best twitter is one of the best things on the internet. Especially when it comes to breaking news. Twitter is not the gutter, it is people and their inability to be nice to each other.
As for Milo, about time really. The guy was a vicious bully.
This nonsense is ridiculous and sounds like it's directly from the script that all of his fans follow. Right-wingers constantly complain about being censored and discriminated against, all while their accounts are still open and available for them to complain about being censored and discriminated against. He got numerous warnings, decided to ignore them, and the people in charge of Twitter finally got tired of him. It has nothing to do with converting anyone and everything to do with punishing someone who wasn't going to stop breaking the rules. Find someone worthwhile to lionize. The things he said about women and black people are terrible, and I wouldn't agree with his views in a million years. But... isn't this a little hypocritical? The take away should be that Twitter should go even further with its moderation so there aren't a ton of 'exemptions' from the rules like the ISIS examples you gave, not that this was an unjust banning that should be undone.
That's Reddit and 4chan/8chan/whatever other spinoff they have spawned.Twitter is the gutter of the internet, people really care what is being said on twitter ? really ...
What are you calling "breaking news" i'm not on twitter and well informed.

The onus is not on everyone else to educate a dumbass who has made it clear that they aren't open to learning anything. The TOS is a load of bullshit anyway and basically just there for the sake of a legal disclaimer. The good - and bad - thing about Twitter is that it's (supposed to be) a reflection of the society, albeit fuelled by anonymity. It's awful that Leslie has had to endure this, but there's no way to ban shitty people. There will always be shitty people and the best way is to educate them instead of banning them so they can fuel their anger even more.
Oh well, I'll live. You have invalidated any worthwhile discussion you were going to have with me by comparing me with those shits. Nice going.

So he can't do it again next week to somebody elseSo they boot him off after his target for harassment has already left Twitter.
Too little, too late. Twitter's constant refusal to do anything about harassers, be they high or low profile, is really awful for a company of their size and resources.
What's even the point when he's already "won" to an extent?

Yeah let's 'educate' people like Milo, that'll work. The TOS is a load of bullshit anyway and basically just there for the sake of a legal disclaimer. The dankest aryans.
does anyone know why milo yiannopoulos is banned
Can we stop entertaining the idea that thinly veiled leftie bashing like this is starting any sort of conversation. A black woman was the target of large scale racist harassment campaign started by this man. If you think that's worth glossing over and instead want to have a go about censorship, that's on you. But no one is buying the "I'm just trying to have a conversation, stop shouting at me!" bullshit. So stop trying.
Here's his email address: milo@yiannopoulos.net
Reach out to him. Keep us updated on your efforts to educate him.
You are doing a fine job making that comparison yourself with this fucking "censorship" fallacy.
