I've heard this a bunch of times about Pence and am legit uninformed about it BUT...BUT...I am informed that Trump really doesn't give a hoot about who does what sexually. Who remembers his response to the transgender bathroom issue that was a hot topic (and still is but was really hot that one week)? He said he doesn't care who uses what bathroom. I specifically remember him saying this. What this tells me is that he's not genuinely against LGBT rights. DJT was a democrat for most of his life. He's not an anti-LGBT religious nutter like Cruz. He's not gonna try to repeal Roe v Wade or other crazy GOP talking points.
Well for one, Roe v. Wade is a court decision, so it can't be repealed at all. It can, however, be overturned and Trump has said he would appoint conservative SCOTUS justices. Hell, we even know who he wants to be on the Supreme Court, he released his list of ideal picks (hint: it's everyone the Heritage Foundation has ever wanted). And while he may not be personally anti-LGBT, he has also said that he thinks the Obergefell decision was a mistake and that it should be left up to the states.
So let's be clear: regardless of Trump's personal opinions on abortion (he's pro-life) and gay marriage/gay rights, he will absolutely pack the Supreme Court with conservative justices who will overturn Roe v. Wade and Obergefell if given the opportunity.
Do you believe it's wrong though? I agree it's a dangerous way to think...but it's my intuition and i've always had a pretty good intuition when it comes to seeing through peoples words, empathizing with them and understanding what they really mean and are trying to say. I'm a newly minted RN and i'm not shy to say it's one of my best qualities. I may not be very book smart but I'm good with connecting with people...communicating...listening to what they have to say, deciphering what they really mean and what their intentions are.
Frankly, this is total nonsense.
I can't say with any certainty that the immigrants DJT is referring to are more prone to criminal activities and harm to our society but can you say with any certainty that they aren't?
That has been statistically shown to be the case.
I think the minimum wage will go up and make these jobs more enticing to American citizens. I'm not dumb enough to think a Trump led govt is gonna let it go up to $15/hour (which was economically unfeasible Bernie talk) but I do believe it'll go up.
Neither Trump nor the GOP are advocating for raising the minimum wage at all. Just the opposite: they think states should be allowed to lower it or eliminate it altogether.
Also, how much more enticing can you make these jobs? It's not just the wages, it's the actual kind of work that many Americans actively avoid. Does a $10/hour wage make working at McDonalds more appealing to you?
My stance isn't that he had a change of heart about the ban...it's that he was never serious about it in the first place. See here:
Of course he was serious about it. He has been spreading anti-Muslim rhetoric for a long time. This wasn't a sudden development and it's foolish to think he suddenly thinks the best of all Muslims.
Honestly man, for as many times as you say you are uninformed, you could very easily and very quickly find some of the answers you're looking for in a Google search.
