I'm seriously considering subbing to a streaming service for anime and I was hoping people on here could point me in the right direction. Which anime streaming service has the biggest/best anime selection, and is being a US customer an issue?
The only services I'm aware of are crunchyroll and funimation has a streaming service as well apparently, but I'm ignorant as to their value.

Crunchyroll is the best overall service and has tons of stuff but they barely have any dubs. They also offer mangas simulpub in their subscription.
Funimation is pretty good and has a huge catalog of subbed AND dubbed shows. They also offer a broadcast dub for certain new show. This means that these new shows will start getting their new episodes dubbed from as fast as 2 weeks after their release.
Soo you like dubs go with Funimation. Other wise it depends on which show you prefer.
The best thing is to subcribe to both.

Best thing to do is visit Anichart for example, see which shows you enjoy from this season, and even go back to other previous seasons and evaluate which service has the most shows that you enjoy. Either that, or get both Crunchy and Funi. Amazon Prime is doing their thing now too every now and then, but if you do have Prime, don't get it just for the anime.
Hulu is surprisingly probably the most expansive, though you are less likely to find up to the season simulcast stuff. Crunchyroll provides the best general access to stuff that is airing or recently aired but still has a decent library in place. Funimation is the most limited, but they hold on to a few small shows and emphasize dubs. Crunchyroll is the obvious answer for most people, but Hulu might also fit the needs of someone who has not seen that much stuff.
Yes, that's the point. She has great character progression and an amazing long spanning resolution arc, but I just liked seeing Hanekawa as her most inhuman and as the girl Araragi first loved (? Infatuated, admired). Hanekawa zero more like, before she buried her oddness.

I think hulu is becoming the least expansive as theyve been steadily removing lots of anime series these past few weeks.
Oh. I haven't checked in recently, but that's too bad. It kind of serves as a meeting place for many different licensors.

I'm awe struck at the quality put into the show. I've gotten fully used to the Muppet faces already and now I'm actually liking them a lot. I also really love the designs in this show from the clothing to the backgrounds.

Continues to be utter shit, but this time, we have some slight plot teases. seriously though, I'm starting to think this might be Pupa levels of bad, but I'm not 100% sure. Cornbread, what do you think?
The funny thing about this is that I'm also finishing up Prince of Stride (i've been procrastinating with that one) and I'm finding that they are bad in pretty much the exact same ways (with the difference being their respective genres). Mind you, i'm not sayingt Prince of Stride is as horrid, just that the reason they both fail to have any semblance of good in them are the same. I'll explain more when I finish Prince of Stride.

OH! kinda surprised here. I said that I wasn't sure if people would like episode 5, that was because the first 3 episodes were very close to chapters 1-3 of the manga. So I assumed that episodes 4 and 5 would follow suit, but episode 4 seems to adapt chapter 6 (and parts of chapter 5 (specifically the introduction of Kotari's friend)). Basically, what i'm getting at is, they moved things around (In a way that makes sense). I guess we won't have to worry about episode 5 anymore.
For those wondering, chapter 5 ends with
which, considering how people were acting prior to this show starting, you can understand my wonder and worry at people's reactions.
That aside, this was a nice episode, on par with the others. For those getting tired of one half being story and the other being cooking every time, well... thats probably gonna keep happening. Each chapter is like this in the manga.

Kizu is already an old hat. Was watching it back in January just two weeks after Japan.
It's a little sad that the movie got some shit in Japan because of the Aniplex release antics.
But Kizu is a nice example that more adaptation should get rid of inner monologues. The lack of them didn't hurt Kizu one bit - quite the opposite.

People saw the title Bakuon, thought the last four letters looked similar to K-on and thus assumed it would be about a bike club that eats teas and cake. Of course it blew all those expectations out of the water when they realised it was its own titillating beast. This was despite all the signs being really obvious from episode one, but apparently it took some people till a certain bike washing scene to realise what it was all about. The bikes were just too fast for some of the slower members in the audience.
Final Impressions of Prince of Stride: Alternative
Prince of stride is a show that downright baffles me. Before I begin to delve deep into its flaws I want to make note of who made this show (Which, btw, I'm using MAL for this info, so if I make a mistake I'm sorry). You have the director, Atsuko Ishizuka who has directed other series I have enjoyed (No game no life & Pet Girl of Sakurasou) and has been episode director of some very good stuff otherwise (baring some exceptions). You also have script and Series compostion by Tau Kishimoto who has done another sports anime that we all seem to love: Haikyuu!! (among other things, I just wanted to use this as a comparison point). Basically what I'm trying to say with all this is that this series was worked on by competent people, yet the end result has probably been the least competent sports anime I have ever experienced.
I've found that sports anime tend to fall under 2 categories. Using the sport as the central identity and conflict of the characters (Effectively, the "sports anime Formula") or using the sport as backdrop for whatever else is going on (like what Suzuka did). PoS falls under the former along with titles such as the aforementioned Haikyuu!! and Kuroko's Basketball.
Prince of Stride is textbook in what the formula is: start out with a semi kooky intro of the main characters that also signifies how they are serious players in the sport, assemble the team (many of which have issues which need resolving prior to starting back up), practice, play a few games, add some drama about how the characters play, maybe lose a game or 2, and then eventually they end up on top. But unlike Kuroko's basketball or Haikyuu!! its not interesting.
This is what I meant by Hybrid x Heart and this are similar. They use established formula to a T, and yet they don't work. Characters are one note or poorly utilized, the story is rather boring and never gives you enough to carry you along, the events feel pointless despite being told "they have weight", and the who's what's where's and why's are poorly rationalized, etc etc. The camera angles don't do any justice in races either. The jumps, flips, and action of parkour relay racing is rarely given the proper gravity it has. Races end up feeling boring and drag on. None of them really even matter until the last 2, and with the way the show handles the other races, you shouldn't care about any other than those last 2.
I want to get onto visuals before I go on to the good (and fucking frustrating) thing I have to say about this show. This show is visually UGLY. I understand what they were going for here: super high contrast to make colours pop and to give it a quazi-neon look to potentially make the running look cool. It doesn't work. Too many bright white-tones, and too many crushed colours. If just looking at the characters causes your eyes to hurt, then something has gone horribly wrong. This is where I want to compare the visual style of No game No life and this. They both go for high contrast, highly bright colours but No Game No Life also backs that up with interesting effects, dense imagery, and interesting visual design. PoS does NONE of that, but instead tries to go overly simple yet fails. It felt very much like someone tried to go for a stock anime style, normalized how the characters looked and then cranked the contrast to 11 and called the artstyle a day. It HURT watching this show, and that is NOT okay. I repeat: This show is visually UGLY.
Now onto the good of the show. Episode 11 is the only good thing about this show. It still has the horrid art style and some questionable texturing in the beginning of the episode, but it actually handles the sports anime formula rather well. I'd compare this episode to a race in Yowamushi Pedal (only condensed into a single episode, and not spanning a whole season). You get inter-monologing and that weird psychic "I'm talking to you through the sport" stuff we always see in sports anime. It has good verticality and interesting use of 3d for speed and perspective in places, and in makes you care about who is winning this race and why. It was a truly interesting episode (especially coming off 2 horribly dumb episode centered around forcing Riku to stop whining about how he can't be faster than his brother and a pool episode that was both worthless and offensively annoying). Episode 11, despite not being perfect, showed that this team had what it took to make an interesting sports anime, and just chose not to. That is so fucking frustrating to think about.
But then episode 12 happens and decides to blue-ball us by having the final race be only the last half of the episode and not showing us the end of the race, and only telling us the results on a mag. cover. Boo to that. They also try to sequel hook it with a "our story isn't over, its only just begun" bs statement even though there is nothing left to adapt.
That's basically what I thought about Prince of Stride. I think with shows like this and Hybrid x Heart, we really need to start looking at anime formula shows (such as action-ecchi or sports) and seeing why the good ones work while the bad ones don't.

I got to say, I really didn't like the last 1/3 of the series at all.
From Griffith make the most decisions imaginable to all the insaniyt in the last episodes, the show just completely lost me.
Until that it was a pretty good anime, so I don't reget watching it.
Before anyone tells me to read the manga, I'm probably not going to do it for a variety of reasons.
I got to say, I really didn't like the last 1/3 of the series at all.

Something you don't see much in anime and you see it here. You got to see Tomoya and Nagisa getting themselves ready for a new arrival of a baby in they family. It's touching to see how Nagisa family is helping them as much as they can for the new arrival. In a way, this is very important as you need this support when having a new child in this world.
Seeing Nagisa want to have birth in her home is kinda surprising but make sense based on how Nagisa reason but the fear of her health is something to consider and this come back later when Nagisa mom told Tomoya about the risk because of her health. The fear of death of giving birth of a child is become reality and you can see how much it affect Tomoya and Nagisa. This get a bit scary when Tomoya found Nagisa at her bed with her mom and caregiver as her sickness came back. In a way, you kinda wish she will get through this fine when giving birth but this might change quickly.
The speech with Nagisa dad about what happend to Nagisa is very touching to hear and how much he love his daughter. It might also be something he want to tell Tomoya that no matter what, the future with his new child will bring hardship and sadness but he should able to overcome this like any normal new parent will.
The ending of the episode where both Tomoya and Nagisa name the child is nice to hear and also wish they will all go to the beach together. It's nice to hear it and do hope everything will go smoothly for Nagisa for the birth.

Yep, you figured it out. Aniplex will be announcing that they will be dropping their prices, exclusively in Canada. Every anime fan will then flock to buy Aniplex goods from Canadian retailers. With the demand greatly outweighing the supply, more specialty retailers pop up to sell Aniplex merchandise. With the influx of new jobs, our dollar is strengthened until it reaches par (and soon after, exceeds) the USD. Aniplex saves Canada.

Aniplex actually does distribute to one Canadian retailer called the C&L Club. While their site looks a bit shady (as in, hasn't been really overhauled since the 90s, as one may expect of the CD and Laserdisc club), it's legit. I've bought a few Aniplex products from them, and they also carry NISA stuff. The prices can be quite decent for Aniplex products during sales; at one point, I got Fate/Zero part II on BD from them for around $170 CAD. Would have cost me a bit more getting it from RightStuf with how the dollar was at the time. Lately their sales haven't been that great though; some Aniplex stuff has been discounted by only 5%. Makes me wonder how I'm going to buy that Doukyuusei BD in September.
Expanding to some other Canadian retailers would only be a good thing! The more options I have to buy their stuff, the better. Now if only Pony Canyon could find a way to get their stuff over here, then I could get those Euphonium BDs...
