I don't think they are that imbalanced of groups. Remember, MVP and Fnatic are much better teams on LAN, and Liquid and Newbee are easily Top 6 teams.

Oh I know, it just has all of my fave teams in it so I can't wait to watch!

Also everyone in TI is the best in their respective area, so that makes it even more hype.

I love how the prize payouts double each time your team advances. Gonna be some HUNGRY teams giving it their all!

Just releasing Pitlord would be zzz-inducing

I want him released and then tease the next two or three NEW champions to be added to the game by the next Major or something

You dream too large

But I'm right there with ya. Would love to see at least one new new hero

I haven't played dota in years
because HotS is a better game
but always try to tune in to TI. Such a blast to watch even if I can't tell what the hell is going on.

I like how balanced these groups are.

OG is at the apex of the scene

Newbee is a step below them but noone is as consistently phenominal as either are.

Liquid and Navi represent the level of consistent top tier performance that falls short of the apex. Navi though is definitely a step a below Liquid.

MVP and Wings respectively represent the type of teams that are more erratic than the above four but unlike Liquid and Navi Wings and MVP have the talent to win it all when they are on point with far greater ease.

Fnatic and LGD are benchmarks for even being top 8 material as they vcore 3 players from each team has proven at every International. Even based on recent results it's very hard to say they'll get shoved into the 9-12 place bracket.

Things start getting hazy beyond these 8.

VGr imo got this bullshit upgrade

Secret right now are at this stage.

This sums up Alliance's form right about now.

EG worryingly enough seem to be at this stage.

Sadly TNC and DC aren't going to do as well as I would hope and previously expected.

In fact I strongly suspect whoever is the winner of the wildcard will show better performance than both.

The 2nd place wildcard winner will be fortuante for simply qualifying for a $98000 reward.

The hero release rate has decreased so much these years I wouldn't expect teases.

Not really followed Dota this year, and first year in a long while without bothering to get the compendium, but still down for watching the madness - though I don't know the drama going on anymore.

Enough about Pitlord, I wanna know if we're going to get Monkey King. The dude has been implied for years already, starting in DotA and then in DOTA 2 with the bananas.
COME ON VALVE

Monkey king is generic and boring. Every moba has him. His stick extendes and he's a monkey Zzzzzzzz
I want more weird and cool looking heroes like oracle.

I mean, the part where he makes a billion clones of himself is already in Phantom Lancer. I don't follow other MOBAs that much but don't they generally get rid of illusions/multiple units to control?

Updated OP with schedule information as best I could. Wild Card starts tomorrow; coL vs. Escape Gaming and Execration vs. Ehome to start out. I like coL's chances.

Oh and if someone in the Seattle area (or someone visiting) wants to come check it out I still have one Midweek ticket for sale, $30 for 4 whole days of action!

I assume they are spending the first day or two doing all the promo photography. I'm really hoping for some awful intros like we saw at other tournaments. I think it was Shanghai that set he bar for cheesy intro videos.

Yeah Monday is probably the media day, and maybe some of Tuesday as well.

Valve hasn't done a lot of cheesy stuff, the typically take a documentary / sports focus on things. Last year had some amazing player story videos though. Especially SumaiL's.

Anyone got their multitwitch setups going yet?

I'm interested to see if they try and implement something like the BTS Multicast. It would be nice to have to option for people who want to leave it on in the background. I usually wait until the last 2 days to dedicate my time to watching the games from beginning to end--and occasionally earlier on when there's a good matchup (e.g. El Classico 2).

Party at my house.

Not really. But I'll hang with anybody at Dick's if there's a Seattle International meetup.

I will not invite Ars' Peter Bright, even if you ask nicely. (Okay, I might.)

True, I'm hoping for that too with some amazing production value. BTS & Manila really stepped it up this year. May be tough to integrate the crowd / pod cams too.

I can't wait to see what Valve has up their sleeves for this year.

However, I made a couple for people to use:

http://kadgar.net/live/dota2ti/dota2ti_crowd/dota2ti_pod_1/dota2ti_pod_2

http://kadgar.net/live/dota2ti_newcomer/dota2ti_crowd/dota2ti_pod_1/dota2ti_pod_2

The first one has the main stream, crowd, and both pods. The second has the same but with the newcomer stream.

Also, here's one for just the pods:

If you would rather use a browser window instead of livestreamer and want to scale the windows.

The downside of multitwitch websites is you can't often scale the viewing windows.
