After bvs, I suspect it was too dark for them. WB likely asked they get rid of the joker doing those horrible things he was rumoured to be doing in the movie.
Thank to internet movie enthusiast press now we have:
A batman who kills and brands.
A joker who doesn't kill or abuse.
It's an obvious set up for Bizarro world, stop whining !

Tony Stark became a thing when the films deliberately made Tony Stark the draw. It's something I noticed that came to a head with Civil War. Everybody said Team Cap or Team Stark.
It's not cut per se. Increased budget reshoots overlapped with certain scenes, thus making it redundant.
Wouldn't mind if they release the older cut on blu-ray, tbh.

okay cranky man. and nah i don't think peter parker or bruce wayne are that well known universally either. but more people know who spiderman and batman are than iron man on the other hand and it will always be that way. superman and batman have endured huge duds but they're just too ingrained for so long at this point. same goes for spiderman. didn't even have a movie until this century but he was always up there.

Ok, so reading Faraci's article about Suicide Squad that he wrote today, it sounds like he might be hinting that it's going to review a lot better than BvS.
He actually sounds relatively positive about the movie.
I don't trust him though, he's probably building up hope just to dash our dreams.

Let's phrase it a different way. If and when another actor becomes Iron Man, do you think it'll stay as popular as Batman or Spider-man? Or simply look to the state of the characters outside the movies. Or even, the live action movies. There's LEGO Batman and animated Spider-man films coming in the next two years.
It was a really dumb sequence, glad it was cut. The reshoots made the ending much better.
You guys need to stop looking at 2 second clips and passing judgement.
There's that scene and one other which I didn't see fromm the trailers, so surprisingly very little. And joker is, as someone said, about 5-10%. You are seeing Suicide Squad for the team, not for Joker. He's only there for Harley but Batman's solo film will definitely be Joker's true moment in film, and Leto will fucking kill it. What little he had on screen was really good, loved it.

Easily, even BvS was. But this one will have legs, it's build up and just general interaction with the characters is far better than BvS.

Faraci's a good writer, he knows his shit. He's not going to be publishing articles about a film's box office potentials solely to rile up fans. That's just crazy.
Before you go: "But what about that tweet!!" that's his personal Twitter account, not his professional work. Aside from poking fun at the film's title and a few genuine opinion pieces about his concerns for the film, he wasn't actually publishing work intended to rile up the fans. Secondly, that tweet literally just said that he was excited to talk about it, it was the DC fans who went nuts over that tweet, misreading it. It was pretty obvious to me what he intended to mean with that tweet.
If this movie reviews well... Like 70+ it could be HUGE. People are starved for a big summer flick to define 2016 and the marketing has been killer.

Actually is rather fun to watch fans descent into madness.
People have such preconceived expectations that both, are expecting the movie to be great, and if not, its the critics faults again.

$140M is hard to believe but Squad first week is going to be yuuugge. Most of the theaters around me are doing the 10AM and midnight showings all weekend. They only do that for the biggest blockbusters. Don't think BvS got as many screens as this, but thats partially because everything else is so weak.
BvS was also much longer which might have eaten into screen availabilities.

Maybe they like the fact that it's a comic book movie that doesn't look as "clean" as the marvel ones. Plus Jared Leto, Margot Robbie and Will Smith.

Can you tell us in spoilers what happens in it? It seems like something big happened with the Joker.
If it's a lot better, I wouldn't be surprised at all. This movie has Batman/Joker plus Will Smith, first appearance of Harley in a movie, and no brooding Superman.
