The only thing I can really see WB putting their foot down on would be how the Joker/Harley relationship is portrayed exactly.
They want to be able to sell t-shirts and merchandise for this Joker and, while "drops woman in chemicals, making her a supervillain" is bad, it's a totally different thing from "beats women" bad.
I'm sure WB is already thinking about a Bonnie and Clyde movie with the two of them now.

Right now I am unsure. I like the direction of the comics where she tries to stay away from the Joker. I will give them the benefit of the doubt and maybe they will address it in later movies. So maybe Harley hasn't wised up to how the Joker is yet.
