Jaden Smith says it's the best film of Will's career; past, present, and future.

Yeah but he has skinny ankles.

I only trust people who have treetrunk ankles.

Well the good news is due to T-Mobile stuff I got two free tickets and am taking my GF to see it on Friday for absolutely free.

At worst I'm paying 0 dollars for this movie. That makes it easy. Now time to sleep and see how beautiful this thread is in 6 hours.

Quality comment, thanks. I'm sure you're the first person to ever make that kind of joke.

First movie was completely forgettable and unnecessary. Second one was unnecessary too because Spider-Man already had the best superhero movie ever -Dark Knight is not really a superhero movie-, but at least it had some character development and the action sequences were far better.

Their job is to be critical except when there's a Marvel logo apparently. Then, outright mediocre and boring movies like Avengers 2 or Iron Man 3 get 70%. Just because they have jokes in it I guess.

Yeah, how dare some people encourage other people to judge a film by themselves? Jesus.

This sounds like you're just salty critics don't align with your perception of Marvel movies. It's OK.

You can't see why people in this thread are having a difficult time taking your comments seriously when your idea of a "quality comment" is to basically call all critics who rate Marvel movies favorably Marvel shills? Oh, and Iron Man 3 is a great movie by the way.

I don't care about this movie at all but I got a Dolby Cinema ticket for $5 thanks to T-mobile, maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised.

Most early impressions are pure fanboi/antiboi trollism, IMO. Never trust early impressions until the embargo is over. Most of that stuff is vomited from Reddit, Twitter and other anonymous sources. There are some good sources as well, but they're rare (even GAF is sometimes way off and I find that funny. I wonder if some of the posters have even seen the movie).

Hey where the fuck were you ?

"I'm gonna see the movie lolozl" then we wait for you and you never come back.

So, verdict ?

You don't shit-talk your peers like that, even in jest. He atleast recognizes that. Our animation studio doesn't shit on others, even if they are competitors. Leave that kind of trash-talk to people on the internet who have nothing better to do, but a professional should be above that kind of thing.

This is the comic book industry. Shitting on and paying homage/ripping of your peers (or the other big house) is what you do.

D:

Comics were that important to him and he lands the role of the jobbingest of jobbers. Marvel should pick him up for something bigger, I got a feeling Ropeguy isn't going to blow up the screen....well...

Oddly enough, I've never seen Adewale in an interview, always thought he was super stoic like he was in Lost.

I always call him Adebisi, I know his real name. I just dont care to call him anything else.

If a critic liked Star Trek Into Darkness, would that count as a reason to not take them seriously?

Cause that kinda goes against the whole RT obsession thing.

I'm sure you like a movie that other people dislike, would you say that's reason enough to discredit your opinion on films in general?

How dare you make such an accusation! I am the paragon of critical consensus.

(I was calling out people doing what you're describing. There was a lot of it in this thread.)

Have there been many reports about the action? I'll be perfectly happy to watch it if it's just got some decent fight scenes.

Apologies, I misunderstood your post.
Fights are great. Good use of camera work and you definitely feel the umph. Especially with Harley and her hammer or baseball bat.

How many ass shots are in the movie? Please say a lot.

So, are we expecting "worst movie ever", "absolute trash" from critics and a 16% in that garbage site which has terrible, boring, forgettable movies such as Thor 1 or Avengers 2 with 70% and a movie with the exact same "problem" as BvS (Avengers 1) with 90%?

Yeah I'll keep ignoring that crap and feeling bad for people who give these "critics" enough credit to let them determine wether or not they should watch a movie. I'm glad I didn't give a shit because I liked Batman v Superman. Much better movie than overrated mediocrity like Guardians of the Galaxy, I tried very hard not to fall asleep through that. 91%, hahaha, fucking absurd. Putting the Marvel logo at the beginning gets you far these days.

The fact that Amazing Spider-Man 1 has a better score than the sequel alone should be enough to ignore the "tomatometer" altogether.

oh lordy

don't even know where to start with this post, it's r/DC_Cinematic at its finest, with a dash of baffling ASM opinions

I am pretty sure he thought the UC was way better and appreciated the TC more with rewatches.

He still didn't love it, he makes it clear on Fatman on Batman that the UC didn't fix the movie for him. He doesn't hate either version of the movie though.

i'm not a big fan of these tomato ratings either a lot of the time but wut. Amazing Spiderman 2 was one of the shittiest comic movies i've ever seen. It really made the first look more decent in retrospect sadly.

Which is insane because the first was also pretty poor.

i will never get the hate boners for ASM1/2 and JW, were they great movies? no, but not nearly as bad as people pretend they were.

now TDKR that's a stinker.

BvS at least has Batfleck, which is cool. I can't think of anything MOS has.

Michael Shannon da gawd. such a one note villain but amazing because of that actor's commitment. that guy tries in everything. his Zod is basically Ronan from GOTG but done faar better because of the actor behind it.

dude was hilarious. oh and soundtrack was great too. and call me crazy but i actually liked the kents.

Oh lovely.
Well that's good enough for me. I don't expect much from comic book movies anyway, we'll choreographed fight scenes, a few laughs and interesting visuals are good enough for me.

I know SS is going to look nice and make me laugh so the only thing I was really looking for was some well choreographed fight scenes.

Cautiously optimistic that I will enjoy it now.

A far more compelling story.

Batfleck is worthless anyway in BvS.

Nothing against Ben at all and I think he did as well as he could with the material given.

Man of Steel at least somewhat made sense and wasn't trying to cram too much into one movie.

I honestly can't recommend BvS to anybody, while MoS is okay to see.

I'd only really be able to recommend BvS. The public doesn't really like Superman any more whereas BvS has the best Batman we've ever had. Also the MoS story was awful. BvS didn't ruin my immersion by repeatedly calling the Phantom Zone a black hole and then creating a black hole over Metropolis that didn't end up sucking the entire planet into itself.

But then, I have an irrational peeve with almost any movie that talks about black holes. Bonus negative points for black holes letting people time travel.

What is with fan bases shitting on movie critics so much? They basically beg for critical affirmation that Favorite Franchise Movie #127 is good, but then lash out if the critics don't like it. Movie criticism isn't some brand new field, it has been around for decades. Yeah, there are mediocre critics. There are also people who have studied film and see hundreds of movies a year.

That doesn't mean you have take critical consensus as Heavenly Law but I'd take their opinions over some random who watches 3 movies a year and all of them are comic movies. Not to mention that Rotten Tomatoes scores are just the percentage that have a favorable view of it. A 91% doesn't mean that it is a 9/10 movie, just that 91% of the critics thought it was worth watching.

100% this. Film criticism is a serious discipline based on long developed criteria. Its bizarre how much people dislike critics here. The best critics push you toward other film genres and lesser known films while backing up their opinions with well thought out arguments. Also "The film is made for the fans" has to be the most bullshit excuse ever.
