Of course it is. Because it's what matters most. Cosmetics fund the rest of the content. This form of cosmetic microtransaction makes a hell of a lot more money than being able to just buy a skin. It's not going anywhere and Blizzard isn't suddenly going to want to make less money.

I guess it doesn' bother me because games that are pay2 win and sell map packs are still a thing.

Overwatch is a full priced game, though. Having loot boxes like this in a full priced game is pretty egregious.

Price of entry doesn't infinitely fund future development. Would you have preferred CoD style dlc packs? It's going to be one or the other. As far as loot boxes vs cosmetic purchases go I understand why people don't like them. I long stopped buying CSGO crates because of how bad the rates were but they make a killing off of this system and I've pretty much accepted it's here to stay.

I just want to see if it is worth playing it to level up faster. I hate playing Brawls because for some strange reason they give 10% less XP.
