this could create some quality first post material

Nolan movies have the best extras

I wanted a Supporting Actor nom for "NO MORE DEAD COPS HE SHOULD TURN HIMSELF IN!" guy and "YOU'RE IN FOR A SHOW TONIGHT SON!" man from TDK

I'm just excited for an actual big budget non-franchise movie. Enough of your goddamn superheroes, reboots, sequels, etc. Dunkirk and The Coldest City will be the gems of next summer.

1st and 3rd AD's you mean.

2nd AD's aren't in charge of directing extras.
Whatever. Depends on crew size, too.

What a dark time it must've been to be a Brit (1940).

Nazis pouring all over continental Europe, all the British allies falling like dominoes.

One island seemingly stands alone.

Add it a air campaign know as Battle of Britain, things were just hang by a thread

I want to see the battle of Lille

I want to see a great rendition of Churchill's speech.

No. We glanced over WW2 in World history in highschool. We focused more on WW1. If it was WW2 history, we only talked about the d-day invasions (The teacher showed the first part of Saving Private Ryan and the Battle at Brecourt in Band of Brothers.)

Interesting. I suppose WW2 only begins at Pearl Harbour for the USA.

If you are interested in reading more, Wiki has a good page on it:

On the first day of the evacuation, only 7,669 men were evacuated, but by the end of the eighth day, a total of 338,226 soldiers had been rescued by a hastily assembled fleet of over 800 boats.

do people think im really gonna sit still in the theater when harry shows up on the screen during Dunkirk? nah

Some 1D fan on Twitter. Nolan knows what the people want.

This trailer showed us all of three shots from the film itself and already people are finding themselves able to point out some rather glaring mistakes.

Nolan, son, you gotta step up your game.

The teaser editor was probably pulling his/her hair out trying to hide the mistakes. Pretty glaring stuff.

lol absolutely not. that final shot was great at suspense at teasing what's to come. i bet we were all waiting for the shot of the plane.

It's a great shot....but the teaser itself is poor. It feels like 50% of it is mostly unnecessary text against a black background, that feels like padding. There is no atmosphere setting music. The ticking sound doesn't work as a companion to tension when all of the shots apart from the final one are devoid of any sense of tension. The abruptness of the ending didn't feel earned.

I'd argue it's about as shit as the Interstellar teaser.

The whole premise of the movie doesn't seem interesting to me, but I will watch it multiple times at the theaters just for king Hardy.

Wait until we get trailers with some fight choreography in them. Then we're really going to go nuts with slowed down gifs.

Nolan is terrible with action/fight coreo, would love to see him step up the game with that. He's so good with so many other important elements that some filmmakers lack, but when he does movies like Batman and his action and fight scenes are shit, that's a problem.

This is why he's probably better off with movies like this, people don't go expecting cool fight scenes or action, just a well made film.
