It's great, man. Even without the patch it was great and the patch looks like it enhanced it.

TBH, there's LOADS of really amazing stuff that Hello Games kept hidden from us all. They've shown real integrity doing that, but they definitely could have shown a few things which would have swayed the 'haters'. Like 'there's nothing to do' is complete bollocks, but they never showed that in any videos or pre-release videos. There's tons to do, with pre-set objectives and everything, but they just showed the player fucking about.

I don't think you're supposed to be able to reach the centre of the universe. I thought the way it works is that there are many galaxies and you're just supposed to reach the centre of your own galaxy? And then you're given the option to start over in a new one or something?

Can someone confirm how it works?
 
I'm contemplating getting digital at this point. I really think Amazon screwed me over on my LE order.

I should be able to pause the update and start the game without it though even with digital, correct?

There is a center of the universe, sort of an ending, out of many.
 
Just played about half hour of post patch NMS and I noticed the atmosphere looks much better. I was seeing whirling clouds of green gas in the atmosphere as it was falling into night time. Looked stunning.

Also a few welcome control changes too. Scanning is now L3 and not circle.

No, but you'll see when you play, it's just obviously 30FPS. Feels the same as Destiny did in that regard.

How the hell did I manage to miss the upcoming PC release? Now I have to decide between systems. Gosh Dangit.

I hope so, but seems highly unlikely. GAME stick to release dates strictly. Despite a despatch email your package will still be sat on a pile waiting to move until Tuesday more than likely.
 
I'm going to be streaming on YouTube from about 10:30 am EDT tomorrow as long as I can all day. I bought myself a pocket leatherbound notebook to record timestamps of really crazy shit.

Also trying to decide between PC and PS4. Leaning towards the PC though, but there's seems to be a real lack of info on the PC version. Got a 6700k and a GTX1080, so not worried about specs, but need to know if there's full DS4 support when playing on PC or not.

Edit:
Also, most Swedish retailers have the PS4 version available for pickup.

That's a shame if true and is not fixed.

Luckily I'm not gonna double dip because of the "delay" but I might pre order it on PC and check out that version in regards to how it runs.
Good 2 hour test of everything or refund is an option which makes it easier to pick up launch day.
 
Caved. Pre-ordered. Being off work all summer (teacher) has won me over, i'm bored. Not even excited for it, so may work in my favour I hope. Don't even know what you do, going in totally blind :)

It's a P3 low bug if I ever saw one. The QA guys probably did catch it but it will have be so far down the pecking order in bug scrub it won't have been touched.

If your system exceeds the minimum requirements, go for the PC version; if it doesn't, go for the PS4 version. Should the former happen to be terrible for one reason or another, at least on Steam you'll have a two-week window post-release within which to claim a refund (provided you don't play more than two hours).
 
I'm stopping streaming for now, partly because lunch and also because I'm hearing the servers will be wiped again. Does anyone know if this means I'm going to have to start again tomorrow?
