The International 2016 (Aug 3rd - 13th)

So that win puts QO behind only Jaedong for career Korean tournament earnings in any sport if esportsearnings is anything to really go by. I wonder if a really high finish here for MVP can drum up even a bit more excitement about Dota over there.

That is a seriously impressive stat. The fact he has higher earnings than the likes of Flash and MC is quite something.

Like someone said before Overwatch and LoL are just dominating marketshare and mindspace over there. I'd love to see even a modest dedicated scene there though and if anything will do it I think a great TI performance by MVP would be right up there.

Having said that I'm pretty sure I read that Dota2 doesn't even have servers there anymore (in Japan now) and without a local publisher I wonder if Valve would be mindful enough to even try capitalizing on a great MVP performance and push the game again.

*tournament earnings. Doesn't take into account salaries and bonuses or anything like that, just competition winnings.

the koreans have arrived, we're doomed

Secret picked up what were 2 straight upgrades on paper, problem is Universe just didn't fit into the team at all and I still think Arteezy is a bad fit for them.

is everyone just magically forgetting the time after Frankfurt that secret was terrible? Then they win manila and was terrible as well after.

But yeah we totally know the team dynamic and why something happens

I think the problem with Secret is simply that there's no team chemistry. I don't think they like each other at all, and they probably quickly go into solo mode while playing.

Armory, bag line, secret shop, and generally not at Key right now.

I'm grabbing food and so are a few hundred people.
A lot are out in the hall too.

Secret Shop didn't actually open till 12, which is why no one did he first thing in the morning.

I miss the days when panda wasn't rare enough to elicit gasps from the crowd :(

I think they like eachother well enough. I wonder if there's some breakdown in shot calling, though. There's like no decisiveness in that team. The two games they played to end the group stage were so much more decisive and aggressive and they played really well, even with a kinda bad first draft.

iceice Keeper, nice! This could be fun. But their Drow has been massacred recently.

Was Brew picked at all in group stages?

Pretty sure Dendi played it once.

would be good for the game if so

Would be really good for the game. Korea still doesn't have their own servers. Not even sure if the Korean client is even still supported.

Resolution never got big, and Alch can't even hope to carry alone vs a Mirana backed by drow.

No real chance post 40 minutes outside of crazy NP split push action
