Yeah. I am reminded of a recent post by Royalan expressing apprehension regarding Clinton's safety given the extreme rhetoric Trump and his surrogates have been using lately. I remember similar anxiety among my family and black media when Obama was inaugurated, but I had faith Clinton would be fine if America got through two of his terms with no incident.
That confidence is mostly gone now. With this latest insanity Trump has made me legitimately alarmed and afraid in a way I haven't been since first watching a black dude take the office of POTUS 8 years ago. "Please, don't let anything happen to him..." has been updated to "Please, don't let anyone take Trump seriously and try to kill her."
We're at terroristic death threats and it's only August. Death threats and inciting gun violence during a year that has been full of it. I don't care how much more damage he'd do to himself or the Republican party by continue to spout off like this. I sincerely want Donald J. Trump to just shut the hell up now. I can't find any consolation in how this will affect his poll numbers because it's so overwhelming and disturbing.
No one should have to feel fear over the safety of a political candidate in the United States of America in 2016, fuck.

I definitely have some concern that Trump's rhetoric could kick off a domestic terrorism movement, regardless of what the GOP leadership does. Heck, if the GOP rejects Trump outright, it might make it more likely for his supporters to "give up" and start making good on their violent urges.

You have to realize that your country's current president is extrajudicially killing non-Americans with drone strikes and your previous one invaded two countries that resulted in destabilizing an entire region and the loss of hundreds of thousands of lives without repercussions, so it's not like the reputation is that great to begin with.
