Yes, yes, it's another one of those "let's not call them by the name they want to be called" things. I think most people get it. Just like "Daesh," the whole thing feels terribly forced and ineffective at actually building awareness or changing anyone's mind. It ends up just being a corny inside joke for people who are already well-versed about how vile of a man Trump is.

So the secret service has talked to the Trump camp.

And literally just now (rally in Virginia), Trump said that the "2nd amendment is under siege." lol Very sticky situation he has put himself in. Now every time he makes a reference to the 2nd amendment, it will make people remember his previous comments.

EDIT: It was a wide shot, but I don't think I've ever seen them on the stage, surveying the audience during a speech.

I haven't been following this thread but to be honest the first thing I thought of when I read the quote was that he telling 2nd Amendment supporters to get out and vote. You can argue context or whatever but Trump is not the best speaker and it still seems a bit like grasping at straws to me. I don't like Trump and will be voting for Hillary but honestly this seems like the media going out of its way and trying too hard. The entire baby thing last week was a joke in poor taste as well. The mother even said it was said as she was nearing the exits.
 
The Trump rally today is less than an hour away from me.

The thought of going briefly crossed my mind because hey, presidential candidate, but then I remembered it's a Trump rally and I wouldn't be caught dead there.

No, because Trump was saying it in the context of her already being president. So you're saying he was telling them (and specifically "second amendment people") to vote against her after she's already won the vote?
 
The thing that keeps getting to me about this is that Hillary Clinton's policy on gun control has nothing to do with even touching the second amendment.

She will also support work to keep military-style weapons off our streets.

That's not even touching the fact that supreme court judges have nothing to do with changing the constitution. Trump is being rightly skewered for suggesting violence, but what hasn't got as much attention than the fact that his entire premise in the discussion is a fear-mongering lie. So he's suggesting violence be carried out for reasons that are totally bullshit.

The only other context is that trump doesn't fucking understand the words that he shits from his garbage-bin he calls a mouth. If we go with what they're saying, that he was talking about voting, then it makes no fucking sense because he was speaking about what could be done once Hillary has won and she gets to pick her judges. So either he was inciting violence or doesn't fucking know how elections work.
 
To be fair, Trump could be using coded language to suggest supporters of the 2nd amendment shoot the justices she chooses instead of her. >.>

Nope. Other people have covered it already, but what he said is AFTER she wins and installs her judges, there's nothing you can do, except for maybe the second amendment people. There's a bunch of backspin to try to retract and make it sound like something else, but that's what he said.

I suppose. But I read it as him saying if Hillary gets elected and she picks judges it will be disastrous and there will be nothing you can do except prevent her from doing it in the first place by voting for me. Whether that's what you meant or not I have no idea. Like I said he's not the best speaker I'm just saying how I interpreted it.

Then he would have said the sentence in a more optimistic tone. Instead, he says the second amendment sentence exactly like someone joking about shooting someone would say it. Then he says that would be horrible day.....it'd be a horrible day if his 2nd amendment supporters voted for him? There's only one line of thought the entire time, until he tries to retract the comment by saying "if....if the judges..."

How shocking. Who would have thought that Trump implying that people passionate about the 2nd amendment should take matters into their own hands would cause a few crazy people to start acting violent toward his rival?
