I haven't seen a single one of these. They better have some function, if I found one and it was off, I'd be pisssssssed.

I saw one in a stream. It was in their starter system when they restarted after the patch. As they didn't have anything yet I assumed they needed sonething to activate it. An atlas stone or something.

Ok, I think I'm fucked right now. I got off the 1st planet and into first system. I repaired the hyperdrive and loaded a warp cell, then sold the ship to upgrade. Now the trading post no longer sells antimatter and my hyperdrive is empty keeping me from jumping out. Any idea what to do next?

I had the same problem.
Hang around the landing bay in the local space station and try to buy antimatter from random NPCs. Worked for me, finally in the second system with my antimatter recipe!

After about 16 hours of play I can say I'm really enjoying this game. I usually don't like crafting but I dig it with this game.
If it all gets old in the next 10-20 hours I can still say I got my money's worth.

omg i found a warp reactor theta

????

I have the blueprints already according to the game

send help what do I definitely do NOT have it

Sure, me too. Even then I think it's a game I'd revisit. Certainly if the updates are going to be as substantial as they seem.

How do you even fight in Space? Trying to shoot pirates is near impossible.

I almost died trying to escape because I couldn't hit the pirates.

gonna reboot then if that doesn't work I'm done, this game is broken and I'm still fairly certain this stuff is needed for endgame fast jumps

Been farming this one planet for alien inventory suit upgrade pods and Vortex cubes. I just get the Vortex cubes, run away from the sentinels, and then hit up the trading post and sell the cubes, find an alien pod.

There's a lot of alien pods around here!

It all just seems pointless right now which is maybe the message, I guess. I doubt anyone will ever find my named planets/systems/animals/plants and if they do I'll never know. Hell, I can't even find some of my old systems anymore. The only thing keeping me going is wondering if there is something really rare and weird they hid in here at this point but I doubt it. I feel like I've seen everything hundreds of times now. The amount of game crashes I've had sucks.

I keep getting awesome blueprints and it says I already know them and I dont have them and they dont show up in my blueprint book. What the fuck is going on? Before I got blueprints for a megadrive tau engine and that happened. Now I got blueprints for some crazy pulse drive with a wierd name and now its saying I already have it but I fucking dont! Aaahhhhrrrghghh!

I've read this a couple times. What are you meant to do here? When upgrading / changing ship are you meant to move over your hyperdrive from the first ship?

Game unlocks in 12ish ours, I don't want to make the same mistake.
Don't buy a ship until you mare the first jump. You get the anti matter recipe almost immediately after.
The ship you gave uo should be at the space station as an abandoned ship though so yiu can just trade back.
Or don't use the warp cell until yiu get a new ship. Once you use a warp cell it's tied to the ship yiu used it on and you can only easily get one warp cell before the first jump

Just happened to me with hyperdrive theta

how the hell do we continue without hyperdrive upgrades, the only things that make this game beatable really

Right. I can't take it anymore. Rant incoming but I'm gonna try to do it right. I wanted to love this game and I've been waiting years to play it. Being procedural there were many reasons I'd kept expectations in check, but even then, I've been let down and here's why.

Bugs and progressions issues - There's the DLC ship, an issue with using black holes whilst still trying to follow the Atlas path and many other randomly occurring ones like weapons not needing resources. Landing on a tree making the ship incapable of taking off, landing inside a planet, the list just goes on and on and it makes playing the game a chore.

False impressions - The game doesn't live up to the expectations even when you keep them in check. There's a lot of stuff in the trailers that just seems completely absent in the actual game, it's pretty much been parred back on every level and feels like a barebones version of what they planned. It feels early access even but since much of this content was previously shown it only furthers the question of it's absence.

Grinding - I can take a grind. I've beaten Infinite Undiscovery's post game dungeon on the hardest difficulty for a single gamerscore point, trust me I can handle the grind. But this is just a whole different level. I had to make 45 jumps which involved visiting each planet and moon at least briefly with quite a few scoured for 20+ outposts before I finally got a warp upgrade. Most of the rest of my gear was already Tau +3 or better, I had a 17 slot tool loaded for mining, a fully unlocked player INV and a 30 slot ship before ever seeing a warp drive upgrade at all. Even ater all that and many black holes I've covered about 5% of the distance.

Atlas - This was the straw that broke the camels back. It's freaking pointless in that it just drops it on you with no indication of it's importance and expects you to cart its shit around for most of the game all the while you get blasted by pirates for carrying it, yet it never seemed to indicate that you should actually hold onto this stuff. Once you realize it's too late, you can either start again or finish the 95% of your 25 hour journey so far.

I don't want to be harsh on the game because I applaud what they attempted, but honestly this feels like it needed at least another year, or perhaps another generation. I don't think I'll be coming back to it unless someone finds something ultra crazy does exist in game, or until they're making big strides on the future content.

They just didn't hit the target I was hoping they would and honestly, I get the feeling they didn't hit the target they'd set either.

Have you tried scrolling to the next page? It only shows eight on a screen at a time, but there are arrow buttons to move to the next page.

This game really needs the ability to set your own way points. Just lost a damaged ship that was a HUGE upgrade over my current because I went over a hill to find some.zinc, assuming the damaged ship icon would stay.

Nope and I got completely lost and can't find the ship even from my own ship.
All this could be solved by making one if the d pad directions that do nothing set a way point. Ugh

So this game just hardlocked my PS4. Don't think I've seen that before.

Same shit happened to me earlier too. Came out of a pulse jump and my controller hardlocked. Never happened before so I had to reset.

I like how I just found out you can find abandoned ships and fix them, so me spending the last couple of sessions trying to save up credits to buy a new one was kinda pointless lol. At least I got something out of it

Considering the whole procedural generation thing, the sameness of the colors is kind of surprising.

Yeppo. I just don't understand why they is the same 3 copypasta'd buildings in every planet of the entire galaxy. I understand it's a small team but a little variation would have went a long way.

Can't yiu buy atlas stones in trade posts.
Unless you mean something else.

any difference between the steam version of no man sky and the gog one?
AFAIK (I've been doing a fair amount of comparing) there may not be achievements in the GOG version, but that's it. They should use the same server and everything though as the Steam version. I'm probably gonna go steam via humble though.

Well I found out today if you scan buildings it sets them as a waypoint. Maybe it works with downed ships.

You can, but if you have forgotten how many of them you've visited on your arrival of the 10th Atlas station you must NOT talk to it. You'll be locked out from talking to it again and it's the last Atlas station you'll encounter. Essentially it's a permanent lockout of the quest

To clarify to those asking on this page:

If you want to avoid recipe/fuel 'bugs'

1. Do not redeem the preorder ship until you have successfully created a hyperdrive and also crafted warp cells for it. You can either find the recipe for the ingredients or purchase them

I pre-ordered on Steam.

Fucked?

Why cant I 100% any planet? I get every other creature and there is always one left and I can never find the last one. No matter how many hours I spend. I find the rest if them super fast and get stuck on the last one. I get all the fish, all the birds. I go in every cave. Nothing. Im thinking its bugged. Its infuriating.

I have this issue as well. My last planet was one in the water. I tried for over an hour trying to scan those little white dots under the scanning screen. But it would never scan or it was always to far away. I'd go to the side where it was, it no longer be there,

That's. Kinda fucking stupid.
Thanks for the heads up I suppose.

Oh shit, I just upgraded to a new ship from the preorder ship and didn't even think to check if this new ship has a warp drive. It doesn't. Now I'm stuck w no warp drive. And I was in the middle of fulfilling the blueprint for a warp drive enhancement. Shit

Haven't been able to read through 249 pages, how do you quit properly?

Get in and out of your ship, game saves, then PS button to the dash and close program? Or is there a quit / save option somewhere that stupid me hasn't found yet?

Thanks...

Yeah I dropped the Atlas quest pretty much the second I was able too. There's really no reason for me to follow it when I know nothing about it.

At least with the center of the universe I know where I'm heading. Atlas quest just looks like a really long fetch quest.

All I can suggest is collecting five asap and duping them (go to space station, land, takeoff, land again, go die to pirates or asteroids, reload oldest save from in game options and collect grave that exists somehow). You just want to have them ready since it's a one way thing. I'd go through it again but I only hit 2 of those stations in 3 days until I got my warp upgrade and hit the other 8 in an hour. Not doing the grind for that upgrade again.

Yeah just use close program after you have saved.
