He's going off on twitter again this morning, saying the media is the reason he's losing. All according to keikaku to set up Trump News after he loses.

The "failing" nytimes.

Did trump always use adjectives for all his adversaries like this? Lyin Ted. Little Marco. Crooked Hillary. Definitely some brainwash type psychology here to get terms to stick. Really fascinating

I'm all for going in on Trump, that that's just coming up with easily digestible and repeatable soundbites. Such is the strategy of someone that has worked in television and uses the media to prop himself up.

it's genuinely impressive this dude has functioned in society for 70 whole years this way.

If you are born into immense wealth and privilege and continually bailed out of your own incompetence by other stupid people, or by nouveau riche desperately seeking the glittery appearance of "class" then you can not only act like a jerk your entire life with few ramifications, it's almost to be expected.

I just don't like the lack of cleverness of it. Most times, to get an effective soundbite, you need some kind of smart spin on it. With Trump, everything is just so banal and brainless. He just thinks of random negative adjectives and attaches them to whoever he doesn't like, and that's the soundbite. Crooked Hillary just sounds bad and awkward. Crooked Clinton would atleast have been alliterative. It's like a terrible and unfunny meme that only got popular because a small group was really determined to repeat it endlessly.

In some ways, that's what bothers me most about this election. It's so stupid on every facet.

Brian Stelter on CNN this morning was about the media's relationship to Trump and it was really interesting. I didn't know the press were penned off at his rallies. One female AP reporter was talking about how it's unusual and they feel a little like they're in a zoo with supporters coming in and looking at them, taking their pictures etc. She said they feel increasingly nervous and are fearing more for their safety. Being called traitors and getting the bird flipped at them is becoming more common.

She also talked about positive experiences with supporters too, like people being just interested to talk with them or wanting to use their plugs for their chargers. It's got to be a little scary when he singles you out and his riled up crowd turns it's back on him and starts hurling insults and anger in your direction.

Well, Trump knows his audience.

I can't wait for the day he loses, man the salt will be on another level.

I don't know, he's already preparing to sound like he doesn't care. I wouldn't be surprised if his spin was he didn't really want it anyway.

Reposted from another thread...

The co-chair of Donald Trump's New York campaign operation questioned whether Gold Star parent Khizr Khan deserves the military honor. In an interview with the Imus in the Morning radio show, Trump surrogate Carl Paladino attacked Khan for his criticisms of Trump.

"I don’t care if he’s a Gold Star parent," Paladino said. "He certainly doesn’t deserve that title, OK, if he’s as anti-American as he’s illustrated in his speeches and in his discussion. I mean, if he’s a member of the Muslim Brotherhood or supporting, you know, the ISIS-type of attitude against America, there’s no reason for Donald Trump to have to honor this man.”

Paladino, who made a failed bid for governor of New York in 2010, went on to say that he does not feel that Trump should change his rhetoric in any way and that no one can be sure that President Obama is not a Muslim.

'Wait, wait wait," he said. 'How do you know that's not true?! That's not fair, Connell! You've formed a conclusion about a man because he's told you that."

It seems like it's mainly Ivanka running things and Don is kept around for branding purposes

He inherited his fathers business, got a million dollar loan from his dad to improve his inherited business, he abused the bankruptcy laws, he doesn't pay taxes, he doesn't own as much as you think (hence why he is hiding his tax returns), etc.
He still had to build and maintain relationships with politicians and businessmen. He cultivated media relations. He was able to get people to work with him. And yet now he's on stage in front of thousands on live broadcasts having meltdowns as if he is a small child. It amazes me that a person like that could have ever been able to achieve what he has, even if his wealth is exaggerated, even if he had aid from his father.

I don't actually want trump to be president. I think he's a blowhard. Voting for him is my way of expressing my dissatisfaction with the entire political system. It's my way of saying that I don't think the president even matters, because the problems run too deep for one person to make that much of a difference, even if that one person is the president.

Maybe he makes things worse, but relative to how much of a farce the whole thing already is, it's negligible. Just like whatever good Clinton might do will also be negligible.

If he wins, we look like morons to the rest of the world. Short term loss, but maybe we actually need to be beaten down, dethroned as the worlds superpower, or whatever for the government to take a hard look at what matters and get their shit together.

And if he loses, he brings the republican party down with him and that whole shitfest they call the GOP can disappear into the ashes.

Win win for me, and plus i live in California where my vote literally doesn't even matter, so it's more of just a fuck you on a personal level to a government that I feel has lost its way

This is the dumbest way to get your point across. All your vote shows is that you agree with Trump.

The silver lining to all this is that when he loses, that strategy will rightly be political anathema for a long time.

I'm just posting this here because it was the nearest Trump thread, but has Rudy Giuliani always been such a weasely piece of shit? He's out defending Trump's statements about 2nd amendment people. He's just such a wretched, disgusting creature. Him and Trump deserve eachother

I'm plenty honest. Here's how honest i am, I'll list out all the areas i agree and disagree with trump.

Agree:
* build the wall
* America is too politically correct

Disagree:
* pretty much everything else

I admit, while everyone else is running around picking apart every little thing he says and going nuts over it, I'm just over here laughing at what this country has become. I mean eventually things get so screwed up that all you can really do is laugh about it, and that's where i am. Who knows, maybe after you put a few more years on you'll be there too :)

And btw, I got the name because I requested "Donald Trump Building a Wall" (see agree point #1 above) and a mod thought it would be funny to pwn me.

I got the tag because I said i was so disenfranchised that I'd be willing to let someone come in and do whatever the hell they wanted even if I didn't agree with them. /shrug
I'm confused as to any person having this rhetoric. America currently has more people leaving than going in, our est numbers on illegal citizens is at all time lows, wealready have a wall via George w bush and building a mini wall caused big issues for people who have houses on the borders, politically correct = excuse for being racist/fascist/offensive rather than admitting you hurt someone, etc.

He already had ins with many higher ups bus his father since trumps business already had poltical ties before he ran it, he just became a celebrity because he put himself out there after he got money. People believe what he says because he is a celebrity who says controversial things that are offensive (he says offensive things that others think)

You make this observation in the same dank timeline where G.W. Bush was president for 8 years?

Nah. Bush at least had some charm and wasn't going off the deep end every fucking day. I hate how Bush ran his presidency or more accurately how Cheney ran the country, but the man at least had a soul and you could actually relate to him in some ways.

Trump should just succeed the race at this point, America shouldn't be the place for his hateful rhetoric. Hillary has it in the bag, I can't stand Hillary and disagree with a lot of her policies, but at least we will have relative stability.

My feel on Giuliani is that he's a stone racist on the level of Strom Thurmond or Jesse Helms. He would have had the NYPD just hunt down and kill all minorities if he could have gotten away with it. He's actually worse than Trump and probably worse than even Cruz.

I don't get it. If Republicans will never vote for a Democrat, and there are no third party options, why do Republicans even have to take hard lines on things like gay marriage or repealing Roe V. Wade, or allowing people on the no-fly-list to buy guns. If they just said "gay marriage doesn't undermine straight marriage, ignore it," "abstinence education," "some people should be prevented from owning guns," will the NRA go and fund Democrats? Will Republicans start voting Democrat? There's no third party. What do the Republicans worry about? The Democrats are waging war and doing domestic spying and eroding consumer rights/commercial competition, and Democratic voters are still supporting them because they know they have nowhere to go.

As much as Trump jokes that he could shoot someone in the street and not lose a vote, Hillary is in a similar position. The only thing that matters are the independents, and if independents cared that much about the highly partisan issues, they wouldn't be independent. As much as foreign policy or economic policy is nuanced and features overlap, if all you care about is the 2nd amendment, the dividing lines between the parties is clear, so if one party moves to the middle, they're not going to leave behind the people on the fringes because those people are never going to flip to the complete other side.

edit: How do we know Trump's not a Muslim? I've seen Obama's pastor, I heard him sing Amazing Grace in a Church. What's Trump's favourite hymn? If Obama's lying, at least he's faking it. Trump, put in some effort, show us something.
