SFV August and September Update Detailed (Dailies, VS CPU, Ragequitting, more)

Maybe give the player fight money and league points if they're rage quit on? I suspect people would care less about rage quitters if it didn't jeopardize their rewards.

No, you can't do double rewards, or people will intentionally try to cause bad connections to force people to quit on them.

I wonder what happens for the people who bought Premium Costumes before this update? Do they get the Colors gifted to them?

Versus CPU is a good thing for me.

Daily Targets and fixing Profiles is like 'finally' at this point.

This seems like a solid little update, but I'll wait to check it out myself before I pass final judgment on it.

But then how could I enjoy it for the last 6 months?

This.

Wonder if "Fighter Profile Updates!" entails Capcom actually fixing stat tracking over half a year after the game's launch.

They could have just left it out at launch and then added it later, and you would have been like "WOW, what a cool update!".

So, it seems kind of silly to be upset about a feature that no one would have even cared about if it were completely absent.

So how many people are going to buy SFV now that VS CPU is in, people whined about so long?

I still think it's ridiculous people cared about this so much in a fighting game, where the only time I remember fighting the CPU was anything close to fun, was in VF4: Evo.

Arcade Mode is the other thing that people are complaining about.

Not many. They've moved on to other games, which is why it should have been there are launch and not 7 months later.

Go play Survival.

I've already stopped watching majors for this game as it's the same few characters dominating every time

This post just when two Laura players (one of which is a Dhalsim player, too) got to grand finals in the same weekend...

And, Itabashi Zangief got top 8 at one of the most stacked Japanese tourneys in recent memory.

And, Alex/Birdie player got top 8 in China...

Plus, Daigo tweeting that he's starting to feel progress in his play, after getting 2nd at Well Played Cup.

I'd say the tourney season is actually starting to get MORE interesting.

Both those updates sound great. I still need to play Story Mode and keep trying to learn how to play fighting games. But keep the updates coming!

Arcade still isn't in, VS CPU is a nice addition for people who've already bought the game and got burned from lack of SP content, but many people skipped it due to lack of arcade and VS CPU, not just because of VS CPU.

And yeah, an arcade mode update by itself is likely not to get people on board either a this point. They'd need to do a relaunch with all the content on disc once this season is done (with an arcade mode) to get some attention with new reviews coming in, and more attention than a regular update would. People who have moved on from expecting the update, or are just simply ignoring the game altogether because of the state it launched in will pay attention when it gets some relaunch coverage.

AUGUST UPDATE

Rage Quitting Penalty

We are aware of the Rage Quitting issue, and this update will continue our efforts toward resolving it. We will make a second update to the existing Rage Quitting system with stricter guidelines for players who disconnect before the match is over. Players who are penalized will lose League Points and be locked out of online matching for a set time. The update will be implemented after the maintenance on 8/16.

That's great news..now if I could get a disconnect rate next to the connection before I accept a match , so I wouldn't even waste my time, that would be groovy..

Also curious of how many points they lose if they RQ ...if it's less than they would've lost by take the L what would be the point?

I think UMvC3 implemented something along those lines with either a happy face, a neutral face, or a angry face depending on how often they rage-quit.

Vs CPU.

I can't believe I'm so happy to see a token feature of every single other fighting game ever made show back up.

"You don't know what you've got 'til its gone..."

But they didn't, and they're still silent about it to date. It's not about (supposedly) being upset about it, it's moreso about how ludicrous this situation is.

September seems like the more significant month. (If Urien is pushed back...)
Technically speaking, Urien would be on schedule since he was originally pegged for a September release. Now if he was delayed to October, that'd be a different story.

If there is no Urien in September that leaves Urien in October with Extra Battle Mode as well as Stage Transitions

I assume Capcom will announce Season 2 at PSX in December.

Seasons 2 Predictions
Arcade Mode
Sagat as 1st character of 6 character DLC
New Gameplay Addition (Selectable Trigger/Super)
Motion Blur options (PS4 Neo only, already available on PC)
And of course more stages and costumes

Never played it online...did it do anything to help? I would think if you can see a disconnect rate or meter or whatever that people would ostracize themselves after a while . I think IV had one but it wasn't openly displayed..

Is that saying that bought costumes come with colours now?
Pretty much, yeah. Likewise, if you have the Season Pass, you'll receive the colors for the Season 1 DLC characters right off the bat.

It gave you an idea of if the person was likely to rage-quit, so you could back out if you wanted to. UMvC3 also apparently weeded out rage-quitters into their own pool of matchmaking if they rage-quit too much until they stop rage-quitting (kind of like a time-out for rage-quitters).

Please, no. Up the IQ, leave motion blur out. It looks awful.

So Season Pass holders get the colors for free? JACKPOT!!!!!

THAT'S WHAT I'M SAYING! WOOOOOOOO!

now i'm not forced to play through survival multiple times for colors w/ no reward.

Vs. CPU is cool... if they add fight money to the mode then it would be even better.

the first post really need to be edited. they are only free colors for the DLC characters and, presumably, premium costumes.

Well, apparently it's just for the Season 1 DLC characters who Season Pass holders can get the colors instantly for.
