SFV August and September Update Detailed (Dailies, VS CPU, Ragequitting, more)

No, September according to Eventhubs

Thanks man!

Article
FGC members began wondering: Is Urien going to be released in August before the September update drops? Though the blog entry seemed to suggest something along those lines, it look as though a release for Urien this month isn't the case.

We reached out to Capcom to get the lowdown, and they confirmed with us that Urien will be seeing a release sometime in September.
Man i thought Capgod said they were gonna #RISEUP on their communication with the community.

I doubt it is that simple, wasn't SFIV p2p as well?
How did they know then, i never lost points when someone else rq'ed on me, i did lose them when i had connection problems.

Again, that's just a rumor popping up whenever penalty is added. Several players had 3+ games where people RQ on them and they never received any penalties.

That is good to hear.
Even if it were true though the punishment is severe enough that eventually rage quits would be significantly reduced and someone being rd'ed 3 times in a row would not happen often.

Haunts (from Capcom) chimed in on the concerns over the new rage-quit penalty.

I saw people reporting they were getting RQ on and getting penalized and checked with the server team to understand how it works to make sure this wasn't the case.

Someone who rage quits is (obviously) disconnected from the server. The person who is rage quit on is returned to matchmaking. If a match ends before it concludes, the player who is no longer connected to the server is penalized, not the player who stays connected.

As an example, lets say you stay in training mode waiting for matches, get one and then someone pulls the plug on you mid-match. You'll be returned to training mode waiting for more matches and wont be penalized.

That said, I'm keeping an eye out for any videos that show someone who stays connected is penalized but I haven't seen anything. If anything comes up I'll definitely pass it along to the team.

Most of this should have been in place day 1. The fact it took half a year is kind of sad.

Still it's a good set of updates and fixes most of the issues left, so good on them.

I think the only complaints left for Capcom to rectify would be Arcade Mode & the netcode. Maybe Survival Mode as well, but the purchasable colors may be their answer to Survival.

I'd love if they could implement a connection-based filter for Battle Lounge like they do Ranked/Casual, or at least fix the indicator icons that don't load most of the time.

Well, they'd also have to time travel and fix these problems at launch to satisfy those who drive by post "too little too late Capcom."

Lee Wulong ? xD

They love to reuse ideas for Street x Tekken in Street Fighter .. they totaly could use some of the Lei stuff =P
At first glance I thought you were pointing out the confusion between A Pimp Named Lee & Lei Wulong from FSLink's post. Now I know that you two were referring to SF1 Lee.

I think the netcode is fine, but I set it to 4 and higher.

Arcade mode is really the only issue left IMO, survival is going to be tedious anyway, but making it so it's not required is a good enough work around. Maybe make it unlockable through arcade mode or something too.

Overall they've made good on it, but it took a long time. The game plays really well but they made such a bad impression for such a long time I'm sure a lot of people passed or gave up on it, it's a shame.

I pretty much do the same thing & I'm having no issues with the netcode (then again, I'm using a wired connection).

Yeah, I'm using wired too.

Arcade mode is just a "checkbox" thing at this point. It won't change anything, not even internet arguments.

It would be nice to have. It's not a be all and end all but to me it doesn't feel like a complete package without it.

I mean, if it gives us Fight Money upon first completion for each character, that alone would make Arcade Mode worth it. Plus it'd be a good bargaining chip for a potential Season 1 re-release (that is, unless Extra Battle ends up being Arcade Mode with a different name).

This is the only game I regret purchasing in 2016. It is by far the most lack luster fighting game I've ever purchased. Thank god for Xrd and Pokken so far. Maybe KOF and Tekken will deliver later this year.

You do realize that Tekken is coming next year, right?

Tekken is only this year if you happen to live in Japan/Korea/Philippines/Australia/New Zealand/Indonesia/Thailand/Hong Kong/Taiwan/Malaysia.

SF1 Lee as a drunken boxer with part of SFxTkn Lei Wulong's moveset

Survival mode grants Fight Money so I'd like to see it go from impossible (and having a ridiculous amount of fights with random consumables) to doable for us okay-but-not-top-32 players.

I'd prefer them they drop the amount of FM that mode produces but turn it into an actually fun mode as opposed to a mix of incredibly boring to infuriatingly difficult.
