Final Fantasy XV - 50 min video

Some uh stiff walking animation with the coats to hide it. Ծ_Ծ Fuck it I'll take it i'm not playing this game with a cast constantly wearing black.

Iron Giant encounter was cool. I like open worlds that feel riddled with danger, like that asshole T-Rex in the first open zone in XII.

Also ya'll need to calm down on your firm best game ever or worst game ever stances. Everything about this looks ambitious, occasionally beautiful but with flaws, some of them serious.
Last time I said ambitious and ffxv together....it didn't end well heads up

My issue with the VA is that it sounds like it's from a much more cartoony anime-style piece of media than what you're looking at. You can forgive a bit of over acting and odd delivery when the art style is exaggerated and not trying to mimic the real world.

But here it is, and it's totally at odds with the voice work.

I'll be sticking to Japanese, which I usually avoid.

Really? Post some of my quotes.

Bullshit. It runs fine so far in the video.

I am convinced that people are out of their minds when it comes to this game or have some skyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy high expectations. It looks just as good as Witcher 3 on consoles and that's without this added polishing coming.

the line readings are dead, characters like cidney have cartoonish accents, there's no positional audio, the text doesn't sound like how english speaking people speak, and the lip synching is off. but yes i suspect if you are a fan of anime stuff these problems are par for the course.

Yeah, I've seen plenty of dubbed anime over the years & usually dubs vs. subs don't matter to at all, however gotta admit the dub here is kinda awkward. It feels very disjointed & stilted - the audio mix of the lines is doing the script absolutely no favors at all.

Only watched about 15 minutes so far, but highlight for me is definitely the menu music.

I think the voice actors sound fine, honestly. It's the limited facial animation that makes it all feel weird and inhuman.

Yeah, the facial animation looks very off-putting at times.

Also, is this our first time hearing English Cor? I like his voice.

One of Gameblog's journalists (not me) got to play FF XV for more than two hours and here is some new info:

-Less aliasing and framerate drops than in the first demo
-The game lets you hear music from old Final Fantasy games during road trips (FF VI and FF VIII songs are available from the start)
-You can change the characters' outfits whenever you want
-The size of the map is huge. The Duscae demo was less 1/5 the size of the full game's map
-The opening cinematic contains spoilers

I don't think that opening was necessary and I think the CGi cutscene with Regis sending Noctis to Altissia and telling him everything would be fine would have had a better impact on the story. I hope they didn't remove that scene.

I'm still working on my preview for work, but I just wanted to hop in and say I played this same build for over 4 hours.

I'd say my mood on it is below those incredibly ecstatic in this thread but also above the doomsayers; I'm somewhat in the middle. I was deeply skeptical of FF15 however and I did leave this preview hands-on with far more interest and excitement in the game. It was far from ready though, and I can see why the delay was absolutely necessary. It does indeed run better than the last time we saw it, but in my time with it I also experienced multiple nasty crashes to dashboard (PS4) and a boss broke, making progression impossible twice, forcing a reset to last save.

But I love the combat, the banter between the guys, etc. There's a lot to be excited about. I'll have a full preview really shortly, but yeah.

Interesting thanks for impressions.

I really need to get my hands on the French dub, I've read that it was decent somewhere back when it was playable at Japan Expo. The English dub is very inconsistent with a few characters that I like and most that I really don't like.

There's no way I'll play with Japanese VA if I can't switch the text to Japanese to match it.

Real talk. I'm excited as fuck for this game. Gonna watch the video in detail when I get home but honestly nothing looks offensive in those videos and the extra can only improve things.

Look at the Witcher which was marred by frame problems when it released. Didn't truly damper the experience one bit for me.

Fallout 4. Frame issues, bugs/glitches yet none of the mattered in the long run.

How could this game have been released next month? Bewildering.

I feel like it needs another year of polish.

Nice to hear about VIII. :)

As for character outfits, it's nice we'll be having more of a variety.

Thanks for this, looking forward to reading the full preview :-)

Watching now. Game looks fun, to me :) Gonna enjoy come November. Hopefully they can improve performance even more with two extra months. Game looks good to me.

It's everything really, can you imagine walking down the street and seeing this from across the street?

What conceivable acting direction was the mocap actress given?

Watched 22 mins (that specifically because that's when the first boss fight ends).

Game is looking decent overall (not in terms of image quality but as a combined package). Loving the previously unheard Shimomura music. I don't mind Noctis' voice actor in most of the stuff here, I remember disliking it when he sounded a lot like Batman before. Combat eh... It looks okay and I like the upgrade system. IQ is rough. Lot of the VA is bad.

Still not excited for the game but I'm cautiously optimistic as there is some good stuff here.

2 months more won't change much, they should just delay it to 2017.
