He might make something like this, but he would've never attached it to Metal Gear, IMO.

You're right. Kojima has a ton of integrity and respect for the Metal Gear IP. He would never put out cash-in games using that IP.

Never.

I just realized how brilliant this game could be. Think about it. Since this is based on MGSV, it could be mission based with different types of multiplayer missions. The survival missions would be like Left 4 Dead. The base defense missions would be like Killing Floor. The extraction missions could be like Payday. The boss missions against Metal Gears could be like Evolve. Wow. Think of the potential. What are the sales of all those games added together? Epic.

I wonder if Survive is a reanimated carcass of what Kojima left behind. He did say a co op mode was gonna be in MGSV proper that never came to.

I just hope they include the most retarded feature from MGSV - other players invading your base and stealing your shit using hacked accounts.

Oh, and Konami shitbrickers will sell you real money insurance that reimburses you for the stolen stuff.

I can't believe they would be stupid enough to put wormholes into Metal Gear, Kojima would never be that stu-

O... oh...

If this has the same structure as peace walker with co op and the r&d stuff it could be pretty cool in co op.

The levels will just be sections of the open world from MGSV tho.

I've never played Metal Gear though I've heard how insane it gets, but even I think crystalline zombies from an alternative universe sounds a bit far fetched.

Crystal archea... male and female... can neither copulate nor zombify...

Pfft. They didn't zombify. They just, parasite-d... or something.

---

Some people seem to forget that we have wormholes and parasitic zombies in the world of Metal Gear. I'm not rooting for this game or anything, but I'm just saying that the outrageous shit here isn't that outrageous from other things we've seen in previous games.

And hey, it's all okay. It's not like it's canon or anything.

Wormholes actually were really stupid in MGSV and shouldn't have been in the game, even if they were practically the equivalent of the goofy OP unlockables in other Metal Gear games that aren't seriously supposed to exist in universe.

It's easy to tell who hasn't played up to mission 13 I think it was in mgsv where they introduce FOB to you. But fuck Konami because wormholes.

Zombies is the best they could come up with? And a squad based shooter even, did they not play Operation Raccoon City or that new whatever it was called.

The wormhole thing in MGSV was tongue in cheek joke item. This games is playing it straight with that jokey aspect of the franchise. Which is just WTF.

So there was a wormhole in mgs5 ground zeros that we didn't saw?
Maybe they are testing things and trying to see what direction franchise to evolve. Its not a metal gear solid game, just like metal gear rising.
It would be interesting to see if fox engine can be a action engine??maybe?? im optimistic actually.

Raccoon city and Umbrella corps were m made from scratch with shitty engines and gameplay decisions. This seems to just be using mgsv's gameplay, adding coop, and using a crazy story so by default this should be more fun than those games ever hoped to be.

This doesn't looks like my cup of tea - mostly because of the zombies and being co-op - but if this creates just a slight possibility of a singleplayer game with The Boss taking place in WW2, then I'm happy to see that Konami haven't left the IP.

There weren't wormholes during GZ event, during an inspection soldiers ended up on attacking the Mother Base, that's it.

But he had zero direct involvement with either of them, apart from maybe a producer tag. Touch and Social Ops have "Konami" written all over them.

What do you mean by "zero" involvement though? Kojima Productions is his studio, he is the head of the studio and he called the shots on the brands they ran. Both Touch and Social Ops were developed by staff within Kojima Productions who had worked on previous and future Metal Gear games. These are people who work under Kojima, and resources spend on the games with his blessing.

I know it's cool and hip to try and paint a picture that anything Kojima does is creative, noble, and exciting, while anything Konami does is corporate and anti-consumer. The truth is, Kojima is just as much of a businessman as he is a game designer. He has to be to keep cash flowing to fund his ambitious productions. This is why when he goes out on his own and creates a new development studio, the first products out of the studio are not games which fans are excited for, but merchandising using the studio logos and mascot collectibles. The man knows how to milk just as well as Konami does, the difference is he's also a magician who makes fans suck it up and feel good about it at the same time.

The core gameplay of MGSV feels so damn good that this will in truth probably be plenty of fun to play, especially since it seems basically like Metal Gear Solid V: Mercenaries.

But I obviously understand the disappointment.

Metal gear is free money, especially if they reuse assets like they are here. I can see this for next year, a mgs3 remake in 2018,and a new original adventure by 2020 or before.
