FFXV Character Models Released

The similarities are just uncanny.
 
Old Noctis looks bad. He doesn't fit his beard, which, in combination with his hair, makes him look like a nerd in university who is trying for some fantasy hero look with a skinny body that makes him look awful.
 
Gentiana, Luna and Old Noctis look amazing, but I think Nomura thought Aranea was going to be canned when she designed Savior Lightning lol

Okay the nose does look different, but everything else just looks like a natural progression of young to old to me, plus some tan job and weight gain.
 
Ardyn looks a lot more like Kingsglaive Ardyn from that render.

Not sure if it's just proper shadows/lighting (that cutscene at the port...) the hat or his facial expression.

Him and Regis always resembled closely to their game counterpart. It was only really Luna who looked really different.

Ehhhh, I'd say Ardyn struck me as pretty different from the cutscenes they showed at E3 (and in the video yesterday) compared to Kingsglaive. Definitely not Luna level, but on the flipside not as close as Regis and Drautos going by that little clip of FMV.

Ardyn and the Emperor (who also we haven't really seen in-game recently?) were in a comfortable suspension-of-disbelief middle ground.

That's the point. They changed everyone except Noctis's young model during these years. And it shows. He lacks the realistic face of the other bros and it's very noticeable. Now with the older model finally everyone belong to the same universe. Too bad Young Noctis still exists.

Did you even read that most people that criticize that design do so because it doesn't look like a natural progression of Noctis's current design and not because this is not a Nomura design?
 
Ardyn is seriously one of the worst looking FF characters perhaps ever. This is coming from someone who likes Nomura's designs overall (Lulu is a goddess you fools).

A fedora, trench coat, numerous scarves, a cape, weird wing accessory, fingerless gloves, frilly sleeve lace, boot... covers? I don't even know. Not to mention his... fuschia? Magenta? Mauve hair. Every single thing clashes. He looks like Joey when he put on all of Chandler's clothes.
 
32 year old Noctis looks pretty solid. Almost wish that was his design for the entire game. Complete with the Roen tux from 2011 even.
 
I must say renders of young Noctis have been really bad from always. Prefer his ingame look. Visual works is such an hit and miss, like the opening segment of Kingsglaive with ugly looking models remembering me of Resident Evil CGI movies. Then they go on with awesome Nyx. Such lack of consistency...

My hope now is that young Noctis is up there just for the prologue (first 3 chapters or so) and you play most of the game with the older bros. That would be a Kojima-level of awesomness turn.

Ardyn was designed by Ferrari and not by Nomura.

must have forgotten the /s.

I was just replying to someone telling it was a better design because Nomura didn't do it. In no way did I talk anything about character progression of the sort. Yes he doesn't look like Noctis at all but it's not what I was talking about.

Oh, I'm sorry then, but this is exactly the kind of stuff I've heard from a couple of friends that absolutely despise Nomura whenever I mentioned that I prefered his stylized designs over the Tabata'd versions.

I wouldn't be surprised if older Noctis was in Nomura's later Versus Epic games as well. Anyway I like his older look good fit for Luna :P.

If it wasn't for the fact that he isn't drawn by Nomura.
 
Noctis was such a difficult design to age anyways. The most logical design evolution for him would have been Kingdom Hearts 2 Riku with black hair or Cid Raines 2.0.
 
I do wish they could have just dissociated XV from Versus when Nomura left.


Now obviously I prefer Old Noctis. He could look a bit more Asian but it's a better example of what I'd want to see in a realistic FF setting as apposed to Nyx(I'm actually not a big fan of his design).

Seriously though, that looks just like her. I did a double-take when I saw that image.
