That was... not good. Getting Resident Evil spinoff vibes from this, but this teaser is taking itself just a tiny bit to serious.

As long as they keep much of he amazing gameplay from MGS V this could turn out to be fun.
People are waaay to quick to jump on the whiny hate bandwagon, we haven't even seen any real gameplay yet.

What the fuck?

If they were gonna make more Metal Gear, why wouldn't they just give everyone what they want and finish MGSV's story? They'd have gotten away with another 'GZ' standalone release for that easily. We already know CH3 was all written and well into production so I'd have to imagine it wouldn't take as much work as... whatever the fuck this is :/

Who's developing this?

CH3 would've required tons of new voice work, new environments, and general labor for a DLC Expansaion that people only would've hated a little bit less than MGS Survive (and couldn't be sold as a standalone product).

This probably took far less effort, and can be sold to a far wider audience.

new MGS = 4player co-op zombie sci-fi shooter

lol, MGS was my favorite franchise not too long ago. Now it's Konami's Operation Raccoon City/Umbrella Corps because RE fans sure liked those and bought lots of copies.

Aww...no Quiet. I know that story-wise, she couldn't be there, but I wouldn't complain if they fudged that a bit. She was the best part of MGS V.

Also, the game looks weird and the story sounds like a group of executives gathered around to find the best way to squeeze money out of a franchise by turning it into an unrelated franchise. Up next, "Snake gets teleported to a world of blocks where he must mine and craft his way out."

LOL

There won't be any MGS "heroes" at launch. But then they'll drop monthly updates where more wormholes open as time passes, bringing more of the MGSV world into the MGsuriVe world. Kaching!

My problem is not with the quality of the game itself. It is about them milking MG and expecting the fans of the series to fall for this for extra sales. We all know why there is "Metal Gear" attached to a title.. and its not because this game will add anything to the series in any way. Its literally not even set in the same universe.

Plus If it was that good, they wouldn't force "Metal Gear" into the title. If anything, it shows their lack of faith in their own game.

Again this is emotional knee jerking. From the miniscule information provided, there is no info on the the games full narrative or if it will be something important to MG as a franchise going forward or a simple spin off, or even just some extra mode slapped onto MGS V sold standalone. And yet your conclusion is already made without the info. MG has had good and shit tier spin offs, this is nothing too new. And surprise surprise, a company milking a franchise. Again nothing new. Konami or any company will have the expectation of making money and utilising franchises. I'm fairly sure anything they do will have the same response when concerning MG. No shit, there is no Kojima. Anything they do with the franchise will be seen this way as they try to twist into something of their own, as is the case when other leads for games leave. The game is most likely aimed at both fans and newcommers / survival genre fans perhaps but doesn't mean you have to like it or buy it, or have any obligation to it. Equally, there is no reason that the owner of a franchise can't attempt to make their own games in their own way and choose the future of said franchise. It is up to gamers to decide if this is any good / worth buying and that defines Konami's direction with the franchise's future. I choose to judge the game when I can see it beyond a vague trailer with no gameplay or narrative info outside a short paragraph. You clearly are not taking that route with your mind already made. I choose the open minded approach, based on an actual game that we haven't seen yet or played.

For example, we know that Konami has plans for future Metal Gear Solid games on console, and Ben has teased that an announcement will come next to year, in celebration of the franchise’s 30th anniversary. If Konami is able to produce something impressive that Metal Gear Solid fans will want to play, even without the involvement of franchise creator Hideo Kojima, then some may be willing to forgive its past transgressions.

All forgiven?

Is this digital only or it will release on retail too?
Not so important, considering the huge amount of microtransactions this game will probably have.
I still need to understand if the game will have a proper plot or it will just dump you in the desert after the 10 seconds intro forever, with no possibility to go back home.

a four-player stealth co-op game set within the Metal Gear universe, due for release on Xbox One, PS4 and PC in 2017.
Okay, sounds neat
Set directly after the events of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, Survive sees the members of Militaires Sans Frontières not killed in that game’s finale transported through wormholes into an alternate universe, where they’re forced to battle a force of crystalline zombies and, it seems, at least one Metal Gear itself.
.........?!?!?!

I guess they really wanted to tie in their new zombie shooter with that popular franchise they have lying around, but LMAO

Seriously, why not Contra? That'd fit way better

Yeah, there is next to no info for the game thus far.

I have a question to the people who are optimistic or trying to stay open minded about this:

Hypothetically, even if the core game bits are good, do you really think Konami won't hamstring this to hell and back with microtransaction nightmares after what happened to MGSV?

You do that! *thumbs up*.. I cant because of the reasons I already stated in my last post.

IGN can exclusively reveal Metal Gear Survive, a four-player stealth co-op game set within the Metal Gear universe, due for release on Xbox One, PS4 and PC in 2017.

This part wasn't so bad and I thought it would be some kind of co-op survival stealth game and that actually sounded very cool. Then I've read the part about wormholes and zombies....

None of the microtransactions were at all necessary to the enjoyment of the game. I never bought anything with MGO or the FOBs.

How can anyone know? We haven't even seen gameplay yet.
