You'll get no argument from me, I thought Rising was the shit and I've been a longtime MGS fan.

But I don't think it's really a minority opinion. Seems like it's more a GAF love. Same with people trashing MGSV. I only see massive hate on here. Most people I talk to IRL loved it.
This thread is the first time I've heard that people actually disliked Rising. I've heard nothing but good things about it prior, and that's coming from other message boards.

Personally, I think I had only played Twin Snakes and part of MGS2 prior to Rising, so I was in it for the action and the spectacle, but even after playing through the rest of the series I think it works just fine.

Whatever, Kojima's out so you might as well change shit, and wormhole zombies is just stupid enough to be Metal Gear Stupid.

As long as they take their wormhole zombie bullshit VERY seriously and make the story nonsensical and pompous it'll be like Kojima never left.

Looks like we might get a few Hero Characters as unlockables which seems perfect for this sort of game. Would be pretty cool to play as Grey Fox or Raiden in MGSV. Just hope they actually give us a better control option for them if they do. The Raiden stuff in GZ was neat, but it was just a skin for Snake and you couldnt really take advantage of his sword combat.

Im going to wait and see before writing this one off. Im actually looking forward to playing more MGSV with Co-op. Yes the zombies are dumb but this isnt MGS6, its a side story that isnt meant to be taken seriously.

Konami gets nothing from me until I see MGS 1-3 Fox Engined. The premise here doesn't interest me too much. I would have prefered that this tie a bit more into the main story.

I'm pretty sure someone would have noticed a huge wormhole open up in the sky, at the end of Ground Zeroes.

It isn't, because Miller says all of them were off base during the attack

Yeah, I know. Just snark on my part.

I know it was a gameplay feature more than anything but I always felt the wormholes in TPP were stupid and unnecessary.

What the actual fuck is this complete fucking nonsense????? Like WHATTTTTT IS THIS?!?!

KONAMIIIII YOU MOTHER FUCKERS, MAKING MY BELOVED FRANCHISE INTO A ZOMBIE SHOOTER???

why... :(

Though I wouldn't put it past Konami to have completely missed or ignored that and decided to use that for the story. If they do it would be hilarious.

Konami clod 1: "Fuck, how do we shoehorn this new dumb side-story into the main canon?"

Konami clod 2: "Retcon. The fans that are left won't care."

Bravo chaps.

How many hours before?

And do you think there is more? Or is something else coming today? (episode 51)?

I posted it 7pm and this thread was created 4AM the next day.

I know that the "Definitive Edition" is coming. I don't know the content but it is supposed to be announced at Gamescom last time I checked. I don't know if that 4chan guy is legit, he might be. I am checking on my end.

I just checked and you were definitely right on the 4 player thing. But you have been teasing episode 51 in someway or the other....tell me what u know man...the pain is increasing :(

I wake up to the a new RE7 trailer and I'm like "yeah, good to see the series trying to new things".... sees the MGS Survive trailer and I'm like "no, fuck outta here". It's funny how MGS Survive reminds me of RE6.

Crystal Zombies. From a parallel universe.

The weirdness Kojima brought to the table was - no matter how odd - usually thematically appropriate in some way. "Man who sets everything on fire" is a ghost from the past consumed by RAAAAAAAGE, "psychic who vibrates your controller" is breaking the forth wall, "a governor with a body as strong as diamond" is NANOMACHINES, SON. Christ, even the Man who Shits Bees makes sense as a personification of the "battlefield emotion" of Pain that the hero has to overcome in his mythic journey to soldiery maturity.

It's possible that these crystal space zombies will tie into some lofty theme, sure. I just doubt it.

Crystal Zombies from a parallel universe can't be any worse than the entirety of MGSV being "lol it's not even Big Boos we gotcha none of that stuff even mattered to MGS"

...and yet it is. It really is. Whodathunkit?

Although unearned, I liked that ending. :)

Nice! This looks like it could be interesting, and really a lot of fun.

Can't wait for Metal Gear fans to become the new Metroid fans.

Seems super cool, and a nice spin on the franchise itself. It's not like this game is an entirely new game with a huge crazy story that effects the entire MGS storyline.

Nothing he said is disproved, he said that MGS5 definitive edition would be revealed at gamescom, which is still extremely likely.

He said:

MGSV @ Gamescom and the remake later event, either TGS or TGA. You might also be surprised about someone. Not saying anything anymore. And I am not guessing.

Who are we supposed to be "surprised" about? More of his wishy washy maybe nonsense. If there's no MGS3 remake, he's gone forever. :)
