Trump to African Americans: "What do you have to lose?, You're living in poverty"

Damn dude I might have jump ship off this cult of BLM, turn in my membership card, and take myself off the mailing list if Tots over here has Youtube videos.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to get through these hundreds of clips of lizardmen turning on camera. I've watched like ten and I haven't even scratched the surface yet.
 
It's bizarre that in a thread about:

Trump being extremely offensive to a community that has just suffered devastating losses
Trump going for the sole purpose of being in a photo-op that lasted 49 seconds
Trump not even interacting with people during said photo-op
Trump continuing to be racist as fuck

What some people are MOST offended about is OP's offhand comment that ALM is bullshit. That's what really gets people's blood boiling, that visceral angry reaction.

It really goes to show just how fucked up some people's priorities are.

Will those people be jailed for being pieces of shit? Yes. Will the police who commit injustices face the same consequences? Very unlikely. You can't take these instances you've linked to and ascribe it to the entire movement — one that aims to benefit people of all colors who have been at the end of police brutality. Protests can get ugly, and it's truly unfortunate. However, if change is to be enacted, we have to accept the ugliness that is sometimes present. You can disavow these acts and still support the aims of BLM.

Oh, they were banned. That's unfortunate ... I thought perhaps this could have been a learning experience for them.

Pointing out instances of black people being violent towards white folks as a way to delegitimize BLM or similar activism is like pointing out instances of women beating up men as a way to deligitimize male-on-female domestic abuse as an issue.

All Lives Matter is bullshit because it's used directly to try to nullify Black Lives Matter, as though BLM were trying to put black people on a pedestal. Black Lives Matter is a response to black lives not mattering. The objective is for ALL LIVES TO MATTER.

Digging? Again, BLACK LIVES MATTER. Why is that offensive? What does that phrase do to you that you need to link bullshit and say things like ALL lives matter? How did you miss that THAT is EXACTLY the point? You didn't. I'm sorry. I just don't believe anyone is that dumb.

There's a history of violence against people of color in this country. This isn't new. This hasn't ended. This has been brushed aside. Some people decided enough is enough. They said BLACK LIVES MATTER, because justice hasn't been served many times over. Because injustice is still very much a thing. Because we aren't dogs. We're fucking human beings, like the rest of you. We fucking matter. You wanna take it another way? Cool..be an idiot.

Not ONE foreign white friend of mine, and I'm NOT talking internet bullshit friends, understands why this phrase is so hard to swallow here. They have their theories, but I'm nicer than they are. Must be them growing up with cheap healthcare and all that..they're plenty judgmental.

Being called a racist is worse than actual racism. It follows that same logic.

It is a real problem though and I can attest to that as I used to be a naive White guy that thought kind of like him years ago. I wanted to believe that all people are currently equal and that if minorities would just stop causing problems there would be no racism. Fox news was mostly to blame. But it was also because I chose to live in my little White bubble.

Regular posters on gaf should know better. A Racial Utopia is not possible when there is institutional racism being ignored.

Even ignoring how offensively Trump's position is phrased, "What do you have to lose?" seems like a pretty stupid and hopeless rhetorical proposition. You have nothing, so you might as well vote for me and hope it gets better. It's like asking someone to buy a lottery ticket.

I can't imagine a politician ever trying to court poor white voters by saying "What do you have to lose?"
