Overwatch Sombra ARG - No one is ready for Sombra [Up2: New Model Leaks]

A hidden line when you view the html source.

"Good work, you have my passcode. Hack this TV program had no point, wait for what follows."

Not even sure what that means..

Transmitiendo informacion a omnicos activos?

Transmitting information to active omnics

The hell?

You know....

I feel like a lot of these companies who want to do ARG's need to go back and look at why people enjoyed ilovebees.

You have to have some payoff to a successfully solved puzzle. If the reward for the community coming together to solve a puzzle is another puzzle, people lose interest, especially if it makes it feel like they wasted their time. There needs to be a lot more carrot and a lot less stick with this. Because I don't know anyone who though the past 3 hours was fun or interesting.

This reminds me of Sega shrugging while laughing and saying "our Sonic Mania arg was soooo clever!!!! people never even caught on, even after we made it easier!" No people saw the clues, but there was no pay off for finding them except for having the clues, so people lost interest.

Yea, these things are neat, but they feel like they drag on way to long.

Like I wish it was something that could be actually solved and not something where you can solve a part but then have to wait days or weeks for the next clue.

The ARG stuff started way too soon I reckon, should have been 2 weeks before reveal then ramp it up just the week before.

Sombra has been decided to fail. Ana gamers are smart. They're the smartest gamers out there. They don't think but know things other people might not, and one of those things is characters count. Ana gamers don't think but know that a character like Sombra needs to be a sniper to be fun. However, they also don't think but know that there simply aren't enough people to go around. Between Genji, Hanzo, hell even Widowmaker, who is left to play Sombra? Ana gamers don't think but know that there's nobody left. In order to strengthen Ana's player counts, Ana gamers made a tough choice that they didn't think but knew was for the greater good. They decided Sombra would fail. Nobody would play her, nobody would buy skins for her, and all so Overwatch could be the best game it could be. Today, millions of happy gamers frag out as Ana. Blizzard should just cut their losses. When Ana gamers decide something, it's decided, and no amount of dev work will change that decision. Let's just say I don't think Blizzard will hemorrhage money from this continued support.

If every solved ARG clue gave us something about her like an ability or parts of her body so it felt like we were actually 'finding' her and putting her together like fucking Exodia, that would be something.

Solving a clue so that you can solve another clue is fucking lame.

Is this an ARG?

ARGs have been a vehicle for people to 'preorder' video game marketing for many years now. They've deserved skepticism even well before Valve poisoned the well with Portal 2.

In this era, ARGs for video game announcements are just dumb wastes of everybody's time. Blizzard should announce or not instead of playing stupid games with their fans.

The potato stuff was good though! lots of games got updates and special things and challenges to get all the potatoes, getting them all gave you a gold one and the gold one gave you the valve complete pack (which they later updated to give you tradeable versions of dupes). The only thing it underdelivered on was the stuff about speeding up the Portal 2 release date which it didn't at all. That part was bullshit. The actual ARG stuff was a lot of fun though. Here the ARG is "solve this code" and then nothing but waiting. Like, we aren't even getting information about the character, all the stuff we know about Sombra we've known since the start, it is a female, has some kind of relationship with Reaper and Talon, operates in Dorado and is some kind of hacker (which we got from the very first instance of the ARG).

3%

So it's going up? Wonder if it'll finish by tomorrow.

Edit:

Oh great, so it's increasing about 1% every 15 minutes. So at this rate, we won't hear for another... 24 1/2 hours.

That's about what I figured. Frustrating, but certainly preferable to padding this shit out for another week or more. Whatever their plans were, reveal needs to happen after this. Shit's not fun anymore.

Some people really need to learn that countdowns are for the END of an ARG, after all the puzzles are solved. Gets the community hyped and focused, then at the end of the countdown, END THE DAMN GAME. This whole "countdown to more puzzles to another countdown" shit is just not playing well with anybody.

I wonder if that changes something when playing as bastion/zenyatta.

They are two active omnics. Maybe something about their voice lines or something they see changed? That could be awesome.

Man I was really looking forward to getting an actual teaser today. Guess its time to wait till blizzcon

Honestly I still believe we're getting Sombra before Season 2. They wouldn't do all these crazy elaborate teases if there wasn't something happening this soon. It's just poor form of hype to do this for the next two months. I just expect them to show the next hero at Blizzcon leading up to Season 3.

Well then...I feel like I've wasted a colossal amount of time.

A 23 hour countdown to more meaningless puzzles. I really enjoy this ARG but for the love of god its starting to wear on my patience.

Way to kill the hype Blizz...

YES. If it was something like clues given out over weeks/months that when solved revealed something about the character (like weapon, abilities, images, background/lore etc) then it'd at least be something. Instead it's solve code to solve code to solve code to wait to solve code to solve code to get hint to solve code to timer to timer.

1% per 20minutes?
32 and 20 minutes. to 100%

SEE YOU ALL THURSDAY BOYS! 9:40 PM eastern time
(might have my math wrong)

edit: got my day wrong...god i was we were already thursday -.-

So it went up to 3% within the last 20 minutes?

If it's a consistent timer that's going to be at least another whole day of wait before it gets to 100%. Roughly 32 hours, so a Friday reveal.

Legit 3% here.

Weird. Ctrl+F5 maybe?
