So my wife is upset that when I walk our dog and he takes dump, I don't pick it up, I am I crazy? It's biodegradable so where is the problem here?

(Edit: to be clear I don't let him do it on people's lawns or property only on side walks, bushes, bark, etc..)

Unless you're walking him through the woods, you should be picking it up. I never did when I walked my dog either though.

It's gross. Makes neighborhoods look trashy. As I understand it, it also can contaminate ground water, sprinkler systems and the like.

I always try to pick it up unless I'm hiking on a mountain.

That's a shady move, your wife has every reason to be upset with you, it's common courtesy to clean up after your dog in public. It's biodegradable but someone will step in it and it's a huge pain in the ass to clean dog shit off of your shoe.

Would you like it if someone pooped in your garden or at your doorstep and you step on it? Yeah screw all the pet owners that don't pick up their pet poop

Yeah, it's biodegradable, but it takes weeks for it to disappear and chances are someone will be stepping in it before that. It's just courtesy.

Do you walk your dog where other people walk their dogs ? Or other people walk ? Because if so then i hope from here on out you come home with massive, corn-spiked, creamy shits underneath your shoes every single time you go out.

Yes, you are crazy, if this is in a residential area.

People don't want to be surrounded by shit in their neighborhoods. If you're walking in a forest or something then that's fine, but every decent person picks up their dog's shit in residential areas as a courtesy. Your neighbors don't want to wait for the bio-degradation process to take care of it.

Also, I suspect that laziness, not the eventual bio-degradation is the reason you're not picking it up.

Troll thread? Yeah you should pick up after your dog if it shits lol. I can see the reasoning if you're in the woods/middle of no where field where no one really walks but if you're in a neighborhood or park then yes you pick that shit up. Is it really that hard to understand? Biodegradable isn't a good reason lol

Poop is biodegradable but, a. it takes time to degrade, and b. there are other things in the poop that can be harmful in terms of water run off and that sort of thing. Lastly, poop being there is just ugly. If it's on your property and you don't care, that's one thing. Otherwise you're being a dick.

You're the reason I occasionally have someone shake my hand for picking up after my dog. Not sure why you got a dog if you aren't willing to take on all of the responsibilities that come with it, but hey, you're only one of many lazy dog owners. Who cares, right?

It's good for the dirt
Not wasting plastic bags
Dog poo is about as offensive as seeing a pinecone

If it's on someone's property I might have
